When remounting opening

When remounting opening sashes and leafs, make sure that any parts of fittings relevant to safety are properly arrested and/or fixed. Especially for hidden fittings beware that all bolts (incl. any turn and opening stops) are properly arrested. The leaf of heavy doors has to be secured against hitting the embrasure through a doorstop the client has to install. Otherwise damages may result based on the enormous forces acting on the hinges. Any assembly and service work may only be performed by authorized certified professionals. Especially safety components, such as doorstops, arrester and cleaning cross shafts, may only be unlocked by certified professionals for the purpose of adjusting the leaf and/or to remount or unhinge the leaf. Electrical components such as electric door openers, electric skylight openers, motors for blinds and shades along with the respective controls, may only be commissioned authorized professionals (licensed electrician). We expressly indicate that there may NEVER be any persons in the direct vicinity of the danger zone for automated drives of opening sashes during the opening and closing motions, in order to prevent any contusions and ensuing issues! If the sash is operated via an automated system for opening and closing, the operator must be able to see the moving components at all times during the cycle and, furthermore, has to manually interrupt the process in order to prevent injury. Any and all persons dealing with the opening and closing cycles must be informed in this regard! Float glass does not fulfill any increased or hazard-free danger of breakage, burglary stop or fire safety. Please beware of local construction regulations, guidelines, standards and directives. The client is responsible for using the right glass. KATZBECK DOES NOT conduct any plausibility checks in this regard. Float glass breaks easily. The ensuing sharp-edged shards present the risk of injury. Various types of glass (float, ESG, VSG…) and glass structures (double, triple) and/or coats (insulation, sun block) can create varying color impressions and/or reflections of light. This does not constitute grounds for any claims. Formation of condensation on the inside and the outside of glass surfaces does not constitute grounds for any claims. Glazing delivered separately must be stored out of direct sunlight. Moisture may damage the edge compound. Direct sunlight may cause excessive overheating of glazing and even breakage of the glass. Increased thermal stress and heat buildup on the glass may lead to spontaneous breakage of glass. Therefore, please refrain from partially protecting the glass from sunlight, which may occur by e.g. partially covering it up or by using internal sun protection or blinds. Heat buildup may also occur through external heat sources (radiators, lighting) and through sunlight, which is increased by dark objects in direct vicinity of the glass. Avoid applying film and color on the glass, subsequently. The Austrian standard (ÖNORM) B 3738 (current version) is in effect for the assessment of any errors in glazing, as agreed. Closed windows will not reach the minimum rates of exchange of air required for health and clean room climate purposes! If our windows are being used for room ventilation, sufficient airing intervals and/or mechanically supported systems have to be ensured. We expressly note that the use of mechanical ventilation is usually essential in highly airtight building shells. It is not possible to obtain the required rates of air exchange by common airing. Please beware of the issued limiting values of air tightness (permeability of joints) as well as all mandated features of windows/doors. 40 KATZBECK-MANUAL

We expressly note that KATZBECK windows/doors have been designed for use in inhabited and uninhabited buildings. Please beware that the conditions of the inside space (temperature and relative humidity) must be within the limits of Austrian standard (ÖNORM) B 8110-2. Any deviating installation climates (e.g. indoor pools, saunas, freezer rooms, stables, ...) or special requirements such as increased concentrations of salt or acids in the surrounding air (proximity to ocean, dairy trades, stables, chemical trades, etc.) are subject to the expressed written consent of KATZBECK. A variety of mechanical, climatic, and chemical stress is imposed upon windows and doors during construction. Therefore, protect the products through covering/masking and be sure to conduct sufficient airing to eliminate excess moisture. The climate conditions of the Austrian standard (ÖNORM) B 8110-2 may also not be exceeded during construction! There are gaps for steam pressure compensation of the profiles between the wood and aluminium profiles. Especially protect these joints (until construction is completed) from moisture. Especially protect wood aluminium and wood components from moisture, rain, and snow during storage and construction. When covering the components ensure that no sunlight whatsoever leads to subsequent partial darkening of the wood surface. Therefore, the foam transportation wedges have to be removed immediately following delivery. Apply suitable tapes to protect the surface. Tapes must be UV resistant as well as compatible with wood and aluminium surfaces. Use tapes approved by the varnish and coating producers! Tape must be removed as quickly as possible. Moisture, mortar, concrete, plaster material and colors and/or said fumes may trigger chemical reactions in types of wood rich in resin (e.g. larch, Oregon) and tannin (e.g. oak). These may lead to permanent changes in colors of the surface. Protect your wood surfaces during construction by using suitable material for masking. If any soiling remains on the components despite the utmost care, these must be removed immediately after they occur by using non-aggressive agents. Alkaline washout from the façade and walls may create irreparable damages on powder coated and anodized surfaces. In order to prevent this from happening, windows and doors have to be protected (masked) and/or cleaned and conserved in time. The primary task of sun protection contraptions (blinds, venetian blinds, shutters) aims at keeping sunlight from penetrating living space and keeping said space dark to prevent them from overheating. Due to structural reasons, some areas may experience slight light penetration around the sun protection contraptions, preventing full darkening. This does not constitute grounds for claims! Regularly check the straps of the rolling shutters for wear and tear in order to prevent the hazard of an entire falling shutter element. Rolling shutters and blinds have to be retracted into the protective casing or the panel at wind speeds in excess of 60 km/h, in order to prevent damages to suspended elements. KATZBECK recommends: wind and/or sun guards! Transportation from the factory to the construction site in our own trucks is the responsibility of KATZBECK. The responsibility for unloading on site and/or bringing the components into the CS lies with assembly and unloading personnel. Therefore, transfer of goods occurs “delivered at place. The client/contract partner must provide the following: access via a paved road, sufficient storage space (protected from the elements), enough unloading personnel and/or lifting devices to maneuver the components.
