28. Any Required Space for Subsequent Tradesmen: It is absolutely essential to coordinate the professional processes of subsequent tradesmen (façade, sealing against pressurized water, …) with the architects/planners responsible. The respective details need to fixed, practical workability and conformity to standards have to be checked and considered during manufacturing and installation of the windows/doors! 29. Load Transfers of the Dead Load of Components and/or the Occurring Loads: Forces affecting the window plain vertically and horizontally (e.g. dead load, wind forces, dynamic loads, …) have to be deflected to the supporting structural element. Load deflection may occur through fixtures (normally screws, load-bearing wedges, brackets etc.). Load-bearing and spacing wedges have to be arranged in the vicinity of the edge of the window frame, transom and jamb and in consideration of the type of sash opening, so the restraining of the frame is prevented. Load-bearing and spacing wedges may not be removed! (Placing aids e.g. wedges, must be removed.) = Tragklotz Load-bearing wedge = Distanzklotz = Tragklotz = Distanzklotz spacing wedge 30. “Special Requirements” of Assembly: If the purpose of the respective component requires a special type of assembly in order to fulfill the requirements of the special purpose, it may be stipulated to perform assembly in a specific manner, which may entail having to be confirmed via a respective form. Generally, this is the case for components with the following “special requirements”: • Fire safety components • Burglar resistance components RC2 and RC2N • Emergency exits and panic doors Please note the special adjustment, maintenance, service and assembly precautions delivered along with the components and/or available from the download section of our homepage. In case of uncertainty our highly trained Katzbeck partners will gladly offer their assistance! 46 KATZBECK-MANUAL

31. “Special Requirements” of the Installation of Front Doors Front doors have to be mounted directly above or below EACH AND EVERY TURNING HINGE in order to be able to deflect the loads of the leaf as directly as possible to the adjacent structural element. Note: If the clearance between two hinges is less than 300 mm, ONE FIXATION between both hinges will prove sufficient. In addition, the hinges located on the bottom half of the doors have to be backfilled pressure-resistant! Furthermore, the pressure-resistant backfilling has to be applied as high up as possible on the side of the handle in order to prevent and movement of the frame in that direction. Please beware that the spacing between the individual screw connection points may not exceed 700 mm and a gap to the corner of approx. 150 mm (from the inside corner of the frame) is observed. ca. 150 mm max. 700 mm ca. 150 mm for
