Go Explore, out and

Go Explore, out and about Year 4 Go Explore The sun was shining as the Squirrels made their way to the Wildlife Area this morning. With their current theme, WWII, in the forefront of their minds is was a perfect opportunity to do some outdoor learning as they made air raid shelters – for a squirrel of course! Year 6 Bushcraft This week the Eagles focused on knife craft. They learned about knives, axes and saws, as well as looking at the history of knives. Afterwards they used much sharper knives and carved their own wooden knives using the skills Mr Hoston taught them, as well as making their own walking sticks!

Sports News Next week’s fixtures Year 3/4 Boys Hockey v Warminster (away) Year 3/4 Girls Netball v Warminster (away) Match Reports Year 3 Netball V Heywood (away) After an apprehensive drive over to Heywood the Year 3 girls we determined to attack whatever was in store. All the girls approached the game with grit and enthusiasm. Each of them stuck to one position for the whole game, which definitely built their confidence and skill. After 40 minutes of game play (10 minute quarters) the score was 1-1. A much deserved draw by both teams. Well done Badger girls, I was very proud of your progress throughout the afternoon. Year 3-6 SASP Gymnastics On the 1st of February, our Year 3-6 gymnastic team went to the annual SASP gymnastic competition. Competing at Liberty gymnasium in Frome, the children were judged by the Liberty coaches on the vault and their floor routine. Everyone was very impressive and showed their strength, control and flexibility to a high standard. It is fantastic that we were able to enter two teams and this is down to the gymnastic opportunities the children in Year 3-6 are now given with Sarah Kendrick, our coach. We had some fantastic results with the Year 5/6 team winning and the Year 3/4 team coming second. Phoebe Kirkwood gave a very impressive performance winning the Year 5/6 individual competition. Well done to all, an amazing feet of determination and skill. Super proud! Our Year 3/4 team: Georgia Doel Oliver Miller Eleanor Linegar Maria Lazaridou Seb Vaughan Kira-Lily Thorne Our Year 5/6 team: Poppy Small Eliza McGrath Martha Johnston Laurie White Anna Bagan Aleesha Mwaura
