Friends Of Buckshaw Village Community Article It's the New Year, and lots of us are thinking about ways of improving our health, fitness and wellbeing. Walking is a fantastic way of getting fit, meeting new people and learning more about your local area, so why not consider joining in with one of these groups: Chorley Ramblers Chorley Ramblers organise walks throughout the town on most Tuesdays, Saturday and Sundays, and non-members are welcome to join them (free) for a few walks. On Tuesday 13th February at 1pm there is a 5 mile leisurely Buckshaw Hills walk which starts at Clayton le Woods Community Centre, PR25 5TP. For info - 07982 094209. There is also a 2 mile leisurely walk on Sunday 25th February entitled "Charlie's Challenge; The North Face of Winter Hill". This is a scramblers walk for children, and adults must be accompanied by a child. The walk starts from the small car park on the south side of Rivington Road, a mile west of the junction with the A675 at Belmont, BL7 8BA. For more details, visit www.chorleyramblers.co.uk Health Walks Every fourth Monday there is a walk which starts at Euxton Library at 10.30am, and every Friday there is a walk which starts at Whittle le Woods War Memorial car park at 10.00am. Every Tuesday and Thursday in February from 10am until noon there are walks in Cuerden Valley Park which start at The Barn on Berkerley Drive, PR5 6BY. Yarrow Valley Guided Walk On Sunday 18th February, Yarrow Valley Park rangers will lead a gentle 6 mile circular walk to Euxton and back. The meeting point is the Treeface Café at 10.00am.
