J e ff G oggin, the members o f the Highland Springs H i-Y started the year o ff by sponsoring a car wash. In November, they presented the annual Thanksgiving assembly featuring Dr. Ted Landis o f G inter Park M ethodist Church. Later, the members sponsored a Thanksgiving dance with the theme "Plymouth Rock, Part II." The never failing Springer S pirit of the H i-Y was exhibited during Pep W eek in a lively pep rally conducted solely by the boys. Through their willingness to work and their acceptance o f responsibility, the H i-Y members and their sponsors proudly fulfilled another successful year at Highland Springs. 74

Pe99Y Truman Treasurer ....................... Paula Tunstall The Highland Springs Y-Teens planned many activities and projects which were fully supported by the membership o f fifty-five . A ctivities began in O ctober with the annual "goto-church" Sunday held at New Bridge Baptist Church in Highland Springs. In November, Springer Y-Teens and their sweetheart, Terry Mitchell, assembled with Y-Teens from all over the nation fo r services at the National C athedral in W ashington, D. C. Each month, the girls undertook a new project. They prepared a Thanks- . giving basket for a local fam ily in November, made Christmas favors fo r the C rippled Children's Hospital in December, and held a bake sale for the March o f Dimes in February. All projects helped to maintain the high purpose o f Y-Teens. Ambra Martin, Y-Teens president, explains a project to three Y-Teens members.
