beautiful restaurant in Old Town <strong>Auburn</strong> located<br />
next door to one of the hottest new businesses in<br />
<strong>Auburn</strong>, The Pour Choice.<br />
I was invited one morning to witness just how they make<br />
their dumplings at Liu Mandarin Kitchen. I was quite<br />
surprised at how fast they were at making these, but the taste<br />
was something that I now dream about.<br />
“We make 800-1200 dumplings every day. Hand-made is the<br />
only way,” explains Sunny.<br />
This recipe has been handed down to her from generations<br />
with her father and grandfather teaching her the process.<br />
They come in Pork, Seafood, Beef, and Vegetable. I tried<br />
Sunny’s favorite the Pork.<br />
To say that this is good is an understatement. These<br />
dumplings are perfect, the best that I have ever had in fact.<br />
At first, I didn’t dip the dumpling in the sauce, but when I<br />
did everything changed.<br />
That sauce is so good. I wanted to drink the rest of it straight<br />
out of the dish but thought it would get all over me.<br />
“The sauce is my secret recipe; it’s what makes our dumpling<br />
so good. Customers love,” says Sunny.<br />
If you are looking for something different and have never<br />
been to Sunny’s restaurant, it is worth it. They believe in<br />
hand-making all their food, and often it is made to order so<br />
don’t expect this to be a typical fast food Asian restaurant.<br />
The dumplings alone are worth every minute you have to<br />
wait for them.<br />
