SHARKWATCHSA.COM
Not for the faint-hearted (not least because the water is freezing year round!), shark-cage diving is the
ultimate adrenalin rush for visitors to the area. Gansbaai (3 kilometres from De Kelders) is known as the Great
White shark capital of the world. As such there are plenty of shark cage diving providers in town, some more
reputable than others.
Certainly adventurous if you don't like small planes,
The Overberg around De Kelders has beautiful terrain
for mountain biking. For an easier ride you can use the
but a magnificent way to see whales in season! Expect
to fly in a small Cessna and get down low over the
4x4 road in De Plaat with spectacular coastal scenery.
Alternatively the custom-built Klipspringer track offers
whales, but not low enough to disturb them (or you!).
The views along the whole coastline are breathtaking.
