SPOTLIGHTING BRAND VALUE
Consumers: LG offers
Gencool AC to beat the heat
Stories by DANIEL OBI
The feeling of stepping
out of a hot day into an
air conditioned home
brings nothing but
comfort. In comfortable
conditions people tend to
work more efficiently, says LG
Electronics. “If the room temperature
is high then we feel
uncomfortable which causes irritation
and lack of concentration.
We also get tired faster when the
temperature is high but in a cool
environment with a befitting air
condition unit like LG All New
Gencool one is bound to feel good
and at peace thereby ensuring
optimum productive capacity”,
LG said in a statement.
There is no doubt harsh weather
affects people differently, but
most of the time they have a negative
effect on the overall health
condition of people.
Gone are the days, when air
conditioners were seen as luxury
items in the home because it
comes with extra cost that included
big generators to power
and even when powered with on
grid light they were consuming
power. To ensure that it meets
the desires of its esteemed consumers
LG came up with the
advanced All New Gencool Air
conditioner with Dual Inverter
technology.
This, the company said is in
its determination to offer Nigerians
a cutting edge technology
especially consumers seeking Energy
efficient products. “The air
conditioner is renowned for its
ability to save as much as 70%
on electricity consumption with
40% faster cooling, thereby reducing
bills. The All New Gencool
Air Conditioner features a Dual
inverter compressor with 10 Year
Warranty that helps users enjoy
benefits of LG air conditioner for
a longer period of time”, it said in
the statement.
LG Electronics said it understands
the desires of its esteemed
consumers hence its determination
to offer Nigerians cutting
edge technologies especially consumers
seeking Energy efficient
products.
The statement quoted one
of LG customers who shared
his experience, saying: “the All
New Gen Cool AC works seamlessly
with his 0.7 KVA Generator
(Popularly referred to as “I pass
my neighbor”) which is a popular
source of power among Nigerian
populace. This is a clear departure
from the conventional ACs. With
this unique feature, LG has demonstrated
clearly that it possesses
the ability to meet the needs of
consumers who wants to use AC
with small capacity generators
without necessarily worrying
about the start-up electric power
for optimum performance in Nigeria
anymore.”
The Air conditioner comes
with a feature that ensures a 40%
torque vibration reduction resulting
in the quietest operation of
outdoor unit.
The 15 degrees tilted skew fan
minimizes the surface friction of
the blade when in contact with
the air.
LG further said that it is committed
to providing advanced
technologies that are energy efficient
and eco-friendly. The All
Newgen Cool comes with multiprotection
filter that removes
up to 99.99% particles providing
a safer living environment and is
capable of making a big difference
to air quality in the home.
CNN rallies students to join
#MyFreedomDay campaign to fight
modern-day slavery
Following the tremendous
success of last year’s
#MyFreedomDay call
to action, CNN is once
again encouraging young people
around the globe to raise their
voices on March 14 to generate
awareness of modern-day slavery,
a statement has said.
From panel debates to film
screenings and marches, students
from hundreds of schools
– spread across six continents
and representing more than
100 countries – came together
on March 14, 2017 to form a
global community and take on
one of the world’s most pressing
problems, generating social
engagement that reached 160
million Facebook timelines
around the world.
Tony Maddox, EVP and Managing
Director of CNN International
said in the statement:
“The Freedom Project has gathered
momentum every year
since its inception, making a
clear and demonstrable impact
on modern day slavery. Last
year’s inaugural #MyFreedom-
Jumia Travel recognises players
in Nigeria’s travel industry
Jumia Travel, Africa’s foremost
online travel agency, recently,
celebrated the 2nd edition of
the Nigeria Travel Awards.
The awards aimed at celebrating
hoteliers, airlines and travel websites
for their contributions to the
success of the travel, hospitality
and tourism industries in 2017,
as well as to encourage provision
of improved quality services to
Nigerians.
Omolara Adagunodo, MD,
Jumia Travel Nigeria said: “the
objective of the awards event
is to recognise the good work
that different players within the
travel and tourism industry are
putting in to ensure customers
are satisfied. As you know, our
mission is to democratize travel
in Africa because we believe
travel makes better people and
stronger business. To achieve
this, we want to make travelling
safer, easier, and more enjoyable
for everyone at every budget.”
Similarly, the Director-Gener-
Day took it a step further, harnessing
the determination of
young people around the world
to put an end to slavery once
and for all. But as CNN’s reporting
on slave auctions in Libya in
recent months showed, we still
have much to do. This year’s
#MyFreedomDay will help
maintain that momentum, and
push this issue to the top of the
agenda.”
Driving #MyFreedomDay is
a simple question: ‘What does
freedom mean to you?’ CNN is
asking young people to share
their responses via text, photo or
video across social media using
the #MyFreedomDay hashtag.
CNN and the CNN Freedom
Project, the network’s awardwinning
initiative focused on
reporting stories of modern-day
slavery, will show the world what
these students, schools and communities
are doing to fight slavery
with live coverage across CNN’s
television and social platforms
on March 14 as well as through
a digital homepage takeover at
al of the Nigeria Tourism Development
Commission (NTDC)
Folorunsho Coker, called on
Nigerians to promote domestic
tourism by looking inwards and
growing the nation’s tourism
policy to enable the sector realize
its full potentials.
Coker stressed the need to
market, promote and bring the
world to Nigeria using the numerous
tourist attractions in the
country. “To make tourism attractive”,
he said, “certain steps
must be taken. He listed these
steps as: reviewing laws that
don’t go along with recent trends
in the industry; training personnel
to understand how the industry
works; putting infrastructure
of tourism in place by investing
in tourism assets; producing
tourism events to international
standard and doing away with
bureaucratic bottlenecks that
hinder access to finance meant
for promoting tourism in the
country.”
