Althecomponentsofmywork,beginningwiththatdistantHorizonofthemid-west,includingtheCircleorring,thehardedgeof theSquareand,lastbutnotleast,theOrganic...CloudsCapturingLight.Aloftheseelementsarefoundinmyworkinoneform oranother,from totalynon-objective(butalwayswithahintofthesecomponents)tomoodystudiesofform andlight;from primal gasesrisingfrom adistanthorizontotheatmosphereofahazysummerafternoon. Thecreativesoulisdiferentandpaysaheavypriceforthatdiference,generatinganinequityfrom thepointofviewoftheartist. Theveryrealpersonalhungerandsacrificecontainedinthecreativeact becomesacommercialcommodity. Theartist'slifemademanifestoncanvasbecomesadecorativeaccessory. Isaman'sartsimplyanotherperson'sornamentaltrophy? However,Irecognizethatalartmuststandonitsownmerits.Thelifeofitscreatorisincidentalinthelongrun.

Intimemymemorymayfailme, Intimememoryofme. But,thepaintingswilneverforget. Ihavehadafantasy...toseealofmycreativeefortsofsixtyyears...linedupendtoend,underoneroof.Itwouldbe cathartictobereunitedwithsuchabodyofwork.However,thiswouldbeanimpossibletasktoachieve.Manyoftheworkshave beenlost,stolenofthewalsofpublicbuildingsordestroyedinfires.Somehaveevenbeennamedinpropertysetlementsof divorcesuits,asaresult,mysteriouslydisappearing.Stilotherworkshavetraveledtheglobetodestinationsasfarawayas Australia,JapanandEurope.Asaresult,thereisaverylargebodyofworkthatislostorbeyondmyreach. Fortunately,likemostartists,Iphotographedmyworkovertheyears,inordertomaintainapersonalrecord.Thishasalways beenintheform of35mm slides. ImustconfessIhavenotbeenthemostdiligentinkeepingthisphotographicrecord.Many paintingswereneverphotographed.Inaddition,theslidesdatingbacktothe60'shavedeteriorated,fadedorhavemoldonthem. Stil,thereisagenerouscrosssectionofworkrecorded. Wel,myfantasyhascometrue.Thiscolectionisarepresentationofthemetamorphicchangewhichhastakenplaceovera periodofsixtyyears.
