Listening to Contemplative Voices: Celtic Spirituality<br />

This weekend retreat in the 18th century Wisdom House Colonial Farmhouse will provide<br />
an atmosphere immersed in Celtic Spirituality, exploring the earliest times of Christianity in<br />
Ireland to its expansion in Scotland, England and Wales.<br />
Experience a combination of contemplative practices – all with a Celtic focus.<br />
Modern contemplative voices that reflect the Celtic tradition will be included.<br />
Participant’s ability to look and listen for and recognize Celtic influences in contemporary<br />
culture will be enhanced as we enter into our own “thin places.”<br />

Spiritual Drumming<br />

Drumming provides the perfect focus for a meditative experience. Each gathering starts with<br />
the setting of our intentions for the session, flows into using a chant with drumming to center<br />
the group and create the energy of community. Drum rhythms for the use of personal<br />
meditation and quieting the mind will also be explored. Participants may bring any type of hand<br />
drum, or they may use one of the drums or rhythm instruments that will be available.<br />
