our favorite time together.”
Ceci Lombardo wore a
stunning gold pillbox hat
with a black veil that she
borrowed for the evening
from her grandmother,
Mary Fauls, which almost
looked like a gold crown
on top of her head.
“I like coming here with
my dad and do not want to
bring my two crazy brothers
or my mom,” Ceci
Lombardo said. “It is just
my dad and me.”
Similar to Ceci, many
daughters cherished the
times with their dads.
“This dance is one of
the times during the year I
know for sure my dad will
be only with me,” 10-yearold
Ella Soifer said.
Many dads felt similarly.
“My daughter, Abbey, 7,
and I come here every year
so we can spend quality
time together,” Paul Shuman
said. “I go to all her
brothers’ sports events.
Each child is important.”
John Luedke, father of
Jane, 10, gave his nearperfect
perspective on
the importance of the
evening.
“This daddy-daughter
dance is an opportunity for
us dads to slow down and
be with our children is a
special, memorable way.”
