Sunday, December 20 join Next Evolution Wrestling for Christmas Chaos. This is a charity show to benefit The Angel Tree Project. Admission is only $5 if you bring an unwrapped toy. There have been changes and rumblings in the world of wrestling these past few months. New faces have been appearing and shaking up the reigning champs. Last month United States Champion Joe King, found himself on the losing end of new comer Rex Sterling. However, breaking news this week is that Rex was mysteriously hit by a car while he was walking to his car. Was this the doing of the nefarious Joe King? While there is no solid proof, the fact remains that Joe King stood to benefit if Rex could no longer defend his title. What will happen to the United Stares Champion belt now? In the tag team division, Army of Two finished off YON to win the tag titles, only to have the Geordie Bulldogs come in with a sneak attack and still the belts. They are now going around the area claiming they are the champs. Join us December 20th for a very special show. NWA Rage will be joining NEW to bring the areas hardest hitting action. Come on out to the National Guard Armory at 6:00 pm and see what happens next, all while supporting a great cause. We will also be awarding the best of the year awards. You don’t want to miss this show. For more information go to 20 Albemarle Tradewinds December 2014

Santa’s Favorite Christmas Treats By Rosie Hawthorne Every Christmas, I go through a “Rosiethon” of Christmas baking, making 2 ½ - 3 dozen different types of cookies, bars, fudges, and other treats. I’ll be sharing some of my most requested recipes with you. As a special plus, all these recipes can be made well ahead of time and frozen. Pistachio and Cranberry Bark 1 1/2 cups shelled raw, unsalted pistachios 1 1/2 cups dried cranberries 1 1/4 pounds white chocolate, chopped Heat oven to 350°. Place pistachios on a baking sheet and bake for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. Do not overcook, or the nuts will lose their bright green color. Remove from oven and cool completely. Place a steamer basket in a medium saucepan with 1/2 inch of water in it. Bring to boil. Add cranberries, cover, and steam 3-4 minutes, until soft. Transfer berries to paper towels and blot dry. Let cool completely. Place white chocolate in a heatproof bowl set over simmering water. Be sure not to let any water drops in the chocolate, else it will seize up. Stir chocolate occasionally until it’s completely melted and smooth. Reserve 2-3 TB each cranberries and the greenest pistachios. Stir remaining nuts and berries into white chocolate. Scrape onto a 10 x 14 baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Using an offset spatula, evenly spread mixture to sides of pan. Refrigerate until hardened, 20-30 minutes. Break bark into pieces.
