INTRODUCTION<br />

In the school of Colegio Reina Elizabeth exist a cultural<br />

interchange to United Estates, New México,<br />

Albuquerque, Bosque School. Only the students with<br />

the best behavior and student grades program. I really<br />

want to go to practice the language, meet new persons<br />

and places. My parents say that is good to have new<br />

experiences.


Albuquerque is a city belonging<br />

to the State of New Mexico,<br />

located in the western region of<br />

the USA, in 2005-2006<br />

celebrated its tercentenary. It<br />

has a population of 559,277<br />

habitants (data of 2016).<br />

ALBUQUERQUE<br />

It is located on a<br />

high plateau that<br />

spans the shallow<br />

valley of the Rio<br />

Grande, almost<br />

5,000 feet above<br />

sea level. To the<br />

east, the Sandia<br />

Mountains form an<br />

imposing wall. And<br />

to the west the Rio<br />

Grande on foot of<br />

the ravines.

My experience in Albuquerque was incredible. I will like to go again because it is awesome to take<br />

class with new teachers, with new classmates, in another country, and see that you understand<br />

the language. It is indescribable the emotions that you feel when you stay with a family that loves<br />

you like if you were her daughter.


NAVAJOS.<br />

GRUPOS ETNICOS DE NUEVO MEXICO<br />

Lengua o dialecto: Navajo y el<br />

inglés. Es la tribu más grande<br />

de Estados Unidos, viven en la<br />

reserva ubicada al Noroeste de<br />

Nuevo México, Arizona y Utah.<br />

Su economía se basa en el<br />

pastoreo de ovejas y ganado, la<br />

producción de lana e hilo, manta<br />

y alfombra, fabrican joyas de<br />

plata y turquesa, recientemente<br />

realizan pintura de arena,<br />

escultura y cerámica, trabajan<br />

en minas de carbón y uranio.<br />

Manejan el casino en Tohajiilee<br />

cerca de Albuquerque. Viven en<br />

clima caliente y seco desértico,<br />

con fauna como serpiente de<br />

cascabel, coyotes, venados y<br />

osos. Su cultura es espiritual y<br />

matriarca, sus casas con de<br />

arcilla y el gobierno les ha<br />

construido casas.


INDIOS PUEBLO<br />

Los Isleta se denominan a sí<br />

mismos Shiewhibak (Cuchillo<br />

Ceremonial) y Sandía Nafiat<br />

(lugar donde el viento levanta el<br />

polvo), su lengua es la Tiwa,<br />

Quiowa y Tahoana. Viven cerca<br />

de Albuquerque y Montaña<br />

Sandía, cuentan con Cabezas<br />

de ganado y manejan casinos<br />

como Isleta Resort Casino,<br />

Eagle Golf Course, Isleta<br />

Recreational Complex. Se<br />

dedican a la Agricultura y su<br />

cerámica es famosa.<br />

Sus viviendas son complejos<br />

habitacionales de varios niveles<br />

hechos de barro y piedra y el<br />

techo de vigas cubierto de<br />

barro, actualmente es una<br />

combinación de viviendas<br />

antiguas y modernas.<br />

La fauna está integrada<br />

principalmente de coyotes,<br />

serpientes, águilas, marmotas,<br />

carneros. Con flora como<br />

álamos y matorrales.


LOS APACHE<br />

Su lengua es la Apachenas,<br />

habitan el Suroeste de Arizona,<br />

el Noroeste de México, Nuevo<br />

México y regiones de Texas, su<br />

religión está basada en<br />

Chamanes y su gobierno es<br />

Matrialcal, tienen tipos de<br />

viviendas, tiendas indias para<br />

las llanuras, las Vikiupas chozas<br />

con marco de madera de 2.5<br />

mts. de altura reforzadas de<br />

fibra de yuca y cubiertas de<br />

arbustos y hierba, y por ultimo<br />

las Hogan, todas las viviendas<br />

son hechas por las mujeres,<br />

siendo las responsables de que<br />

conserven el calor.<br />

Se dedican a la agricultura,<br />

pesca y pastoreo, así como del<br />

turismo. La fauna de su región<br />

son venados, búfalo, serpientes,<br />

coyotes, coralillos, águilas. Su<br />

Flora es principalmente<br />

pastizales, cactus, matorrales.


Para visitar cualquier reservación es necesario solicitar un permiso.<br />

Existen días establecidos para atender a los visitantes.<br />

Todos estos grupos tienen gobiernos independientes en sus<br />

reservaciones, pero están completamente regidos por la Ley de los<br />

Estados Unidos.
