Dearly Beloved, Grace

Dearly Beloved, Grace and peace to you in the sweet name of our Lord Jesus Christ. The gifts God gave were that some would be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, some pastors and teachers, to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ, until all of us come to unity in trust and in knowing God’s Anointed One, to maturity, to the measure of the full stature of Christ. Speaking the truth in love, we must grow up in every way into him who is the head, into Christ, from whom the whole body, joined and knit together by every ligament with which it is equipped, as each part is working properly, promotes the body’s growth in building itself up in love. —Ephesians 4: 11-13, 15-16. On 16th and 17th May, 19 of us including the members of board on ministry, probationary members, missionary candidates and students from Seminaries had participated in Tamil Annual Conference Probationary Minister’s Retreat which was held at Emmanuel Christian Assembly, Taiping. We would like to take this opportunity to say few words about this retreat. We really enjoy being the attendees. This retreat is about perseverance and going through trials in ministry which has really ministered to all of us and comforted us as to why we, as workers for Christ, go through trials and why God 10

allows us to go through them, hence God takes us into a deeper level of surrender. Various topics were taught such as health & wealth, personal life, spiritual life and etc. God ministered to us using these topics to be faithful and persevere in our calling to serve Him. Devotions, testimonies and sharing from the members of board on ministry (President, Rev. Dennis, Rev. Justin Clarence, Rev. D.B. Laurance, Rev. James Ravindran, Rev. Samuel Periathamby and Rev. Sandireseharan) has deeply impacted our lives. We believe it would continue to catapult our walk of faith in Jesus Christ. We are grateful to Rev. Simon Chandran (the founder and pastor of Emmanuel Christian Assembly) to witness his obedience in God’s calling in his life in this ministry. On the other hand, we had meaningful time with our friends, a time of fellowship that refreshed us. We had the opportunity to celebrate the birthday of our TAC president Rev. Dennis Raj on the last day. Lastly but not least, we want to thank everyone who had a hand in this Probationary Minister’s Retreat. Some retreats are surface events, but this retreat goes deep to one’s heart and soul. In Lord We Trust! Glory and Honor to Him! Sincerely, Retreat Attendees. 11
