Berita TAC, Issue 2 2017

The TAC Southern District Methodist Youth Fellowship came up with an idea of having their biennial youth camp for a duration of 5 days which was named School of Discipleship 2017 (SOD) . The attendance recorded was 86 youths. The camp was held from 23rd to 27th of June 2017 at N.U.B.E. Training Centre, Port Dickson. The camp was also supported with the presence of a couple who were the MYF counsellors from TMC Johor Bahru. The 5 days concept was inspired by the Southern District Associate Youth Director, Rev Silvester David, who is also the senior pastor of TMC Johor Bahru. The aim of having a camp of 5 days is to have a relaxed camp for the youths. The theme of the camp was “Imitators of Christ” which was inspired from 1 John 2:16, which says “whoever says he abides in him (Jesus) ought to walk in the same way in which he (Jesus) walked”. The SOD was planned in such way that the youths were divided into 5 groups led by a facilitator in each group. The facilitators were Ps. Joel Zechariah, Ps. David Retnam, Ps. Mohan Raj, Ps. Ezekiel Raj who are all STM students, and Rev Samuel Manokaran who is the pastor of TMC Jerantut and also the Eastern District AYD. The facilitators were directed by Rev John Simson, who is the pastor of TMC Sitiawan and the founder of Youth Transformation Centre, Pangkor. The lecturers for teaching sessions were Rev Dennis Raj, Rev Joseph Yesupatham, Rev James Ravindaren, Mr. Guna David, Mrs. Jessie Silvester and Rev Herbert John. The inspirational speakers were Rev Silvester David, Rev John Simson and Rev Herbert John. The youths were deeply ministered and identified their calling for ministry. The camp received good feedbacks from the youths as there were life-transforming experiences that took place. We would like to thank everyone who prayed for the camp which turned the SOD to be a successful event. Above all, God was at work throughout the camp and blessed the camp. All glory and honor to the Almighty alone! In HIS Service, Shereen Lina TMC Melaka. Southern District MYF Camp 26

TAC Methodist Women 42 nd Session of the TAC Methodist Women’s Conference The Methodist Women are having our annual gathering for our MW Conference this year from 26 – 28 TH AUGUST, 2017 AT EMPEROR HOTEL, MALACCA. We have planned an exciting programme for our ladies this year. After many years, we are venturing out again. This time to Historical Malacca, hosted by our Southern District MW ladies headed by our dynamic District Superintendent, Rev. Joseph Yesupatham and District MW President, Mrs. Esther Amirtham. . We ladies are not only gathering for business, where we review our past year’s work and look ahead to the following year’s challenges, but we also gather for fellowship amongst sisters from various churches across the nation and listen to the various work that is being carried out by them. We are also looking forward to the Spiritual talks which this year will be handled by our very own TAC President, Rev. Dennis Raj. We will have two Workshops for our ladies. Financial Management based on Biblical principles by Mr. Pandian of TMC Ulu Klang, and Stress and Depression by Dr. Daisy Rabindran of TMC Klang. These topics should prove very useful to our ladies. There will be the annual Bible quiz based on the Book of Exodus (Chps 1 – 20). Many of our ladies have been studying very hard for this quiz. Plus this year, our Talentime is also based on the book of Exodus to help our ladies grow into a deeper understanding of the book. Our ladies can be very creative so everyone is looking forward to this!! As a Conference, as mothers, wives, and caring, compassionate women we would also like to reach out to the needy during this time of our gathering. We would be donating RM 1,000 to a well deserving cause in the Southern District. For we believe that our Conference should not only be about ourselves but also about reaching out to the community with His love. Last but not least, there will be a mini-exhibition on the history of MW, plus activities of the Southern District MW and book sales …….. ….with some free time to tour Historical Malacca! So all in all, the Conference should be a jam-packed time of prayer, spiritual food, business, fellowship, testimonies, study and fun!! So we are urging all ladies to attend (with your husbands and children if you want to). Registration forms are available with all your local MW presidents and local pastors. Don’t miss this opportunity to be part of the fraternity of the women of the TAC – doing great things for the Lord! Please keep the MW Conference in your prayers. In His service, Kany Jayapal President TAC Methodist Women 27
