1st Annual Week of Service, Amy Jennings, Director of Parish Life
June 11 through 17, our members impacted our local community in BIG ways. The second week of June has
been an important week in the mission of St. Peter’s. For over 20 years that is when we send our Mountain of
Hope team to serve with our sister congregation in Honduras. This year we wanted to give those who could not
travel to Honduras a chance to serve here in Central Florida. Over 65 St. Peter’s members, Preschool and Max-
Life families joined us in our 1st Annual Week of Service. If you want to help make our 2nd Annual Week of
Service great, contact Amy Jennings.
Vestry & Staff Leadership Dinner
On August 25, the Vestry and Staff from the Church, School , and MaxLife held our Annual Leadership event.
This year our event occurred less than two weeks after Fr. Charlie’s Farewell Sunday. And so, this year’s event
was different from any other the Staff and Vestry had experienced. Rather than a 2-day strategic planning
weekend that has commonly occurred in previous years, we held a Leadership Dinner. The theme for the event
was “Strong & Courageous” and our meditation was Joshua Chapter 1. Bishop Brewer was our speaker and
provided not only vision and spiritual guidance for the time of transition we were about to enter, but also
offered the full support of the Diocese of Central Florida in securing supply priests and caring for any pastoral
needs.
This event was the first time that the Vestry, Church, School and Preschool Staff and their spouses were invited
to a leadership dinner. Over 80 were in attendance and all were blessed by the words from Bishop Brewer and
the presence of the Holy Spirit. Thank you to Jim Dolan and the Fellowship Special Events Team for their
assistance in cooking and serving the dinner.
