The river cruise industry needed training solutions. Alpine Swiss Business School has developed into a<br />

cruise industry-oriented IT <strong>and</strong> education systems <strong>and</strong> training development hub. Our mission is to lead<br />

Who is leading the ASBS in cruise industry hospitality innovation?<br />

Ivan Winterhalder brings years of cruise industry experience to ASBS.<br />

Started his cruise career at the age of 18 on board the Aida Cara Ship as 2nd cook.<br />

He later continued his on board career as Chef de Partie, Sous Chef <strong>and</strong> Executive<br />

Chef on various ships from Hapag Lloyd to Celebrity Cruises, Radisson Seven Seas<br />

<strong>and</strong> a private Yacht.<br />

After deciding to go into administration Ivan studied Business ​<br />

Administration <strong>and</strong> worked as a Controller for Hotel Adlon in Berlin. In 2007 Ivan<br />

embarked on MS Johannes Brahms as a Hotel Manager to continue his career in<br />

administration as Assistant Human Resources Manager at River Catering, where he<br />

was promoted to Human Resources Manager <strong>and</strong> later to Director of<br />

Human Resources. In 2011 he established the company’s office in<br />

Limassol <strong>and</strong> moved to Cyprus with his entire Human Resources Team<br />

<strong>and</strong> took on the role of Managing Director of the company’s branch in<br />

Cyprus. Ivan was later promoted to EVP Human Resources, when River Advice <strong>and</strong> ISP in Miami merged into<br />

FleetPro Passenger Ship Management. At the end of 2015, Ivan was seeking a new challenge <strong>and</strong> started at<br />

Sea Chefs Cruises as EVP Human Resources. In addition to his other tasks, Ivan was also Leader of the<br />

Human Resources Group at IG River Cruises, a member of CLIA.<br />
