ANDORRA
SKI IN
A UNIQUE
COUNTRY

Welcome to Andorra
Skiing in Andorra:
the singular nature of unique mountains
■ Andorra is a small independent state in the centre of the
Pyrenees, between Spain and France. The mountains are high, the
snow is plentiful and lasts all winter. Because Andorra faces the
Mediterranean, our country is one of the snow destinations with the
most days of sunshine.
We may be small, but nobody else has managed to concentrate the best
and most modern ski resorts in the south of Europe into a 468 km² area,
completing it with an unbeatable offer of leisure time, gastronomy, culture,
shopping and so on. That’s why in Andorra, you will be skiing in a unique
country. That’s why in Andorra, you will be skiing in a unique country.
■ Skiing in Andorra is one of the most vibrant experiences you can
enjoy. A rational balance between the snow, mountains and unspoiled
areas that perfectly combines with the entire complementary offer of
leisure.
Why are we so unique? Because of the distribution of our ski resorts,
the particular features of each one of them, the effort and passion
with which all the professionals work so that you are always skiing in
the best conditions. The attraction of the mountains will entice you to
return. Because when you talk about skiing in Andorra, you can never
get enough. You always want more!
Andorra is
so much more
Time to shop
■ Andorra is a unique shopping destination. More than 1,500 shops
and stores are concentrated to ensure that you find what you are
looking after. Designer and luxury goods, fashion, jewellery, beauty,
perfumes, pharmaceuticals or electronics can be found seven days a
week.
Fun, music and a great atmosphere
■ After a day of skiing, the après-ski atmosphere moves to the various
bars at the foot of the slopes where people enjoy a drink, listen to the
best live music, have fun watching the sunset and the arrival of the
evening.
The après-ski is here to stay, and every year has more followers. A good
way to spend time with your friends and family sharing the experiences
of the day or enjoying a delicious dinner in a restaurant at the resort or
in one of the country bordes.
Discover our culture
■ Inquisitive visitors can discover fantastic cultural itineraries,
museums that describe the customs and local traditions, or the rich
Romanesque heritage that has been with us the last 1,000 years.
Enjoy the authentic
mountain cuisine
■ The “bordes” are traditional Pyrenean buildings made of stone
and timber that in the past were used to store hay and farming tools.
Nowadays most of them are cosy restaurants where you can enjoy
authentic mountain cuisine such as “escudella” (a stew wich is an
excellent choice to fight the winter temperatures), “trinxat” a tasty mix
of meat and vegetables blended and fried, mountain rice or a plate
of snails. Customers can also opt for top-quality contemporary and
creative cuisine.
Time to relax
■ The presence of thermal waters in Les Escaldes was already known in
the ancient times, rich in sulphur and minerals.
Today, thousands of visitors a year enjoy its beneficial effects in Caldea,
Andorra’s thermal spa.
The culture of water has taken deep roots, and many places have
recently incorporated wellness areas into their services, some of which
have a surface area of up to 5,000 m 2 .
Enjoy andorra
in the summer too
■ With the arrival of the good
weather, discover the country all
over again. The white countryside
that captured you in the winter
is now unrecognisable. But this
doesn’t mean that has lost its
charm. It’s time to take your
backpack and to follow one of
the many routes which take you,
between mountain peaks and
lakes, to places of extraordinary
beauty.
In summer, the 468 km 2 of Andorra
will take you to a world of nature in
its purest state and of impressive
countryside. You will find beautiful
views, for example, in the three
protected open spaces in the
country: Les Valls del Comapedrosa
Communal Natural Park, Sorteny
Natural Park and the Vall del
Madriu-Perafita-Claror. The latter
has been declared World Heritage
by UNESCO.
During the summer months,
Andorra offers a wide range of
open-air activities, shows, live
music in the streets and squares,
traditional festivals, town
festivals and so on.
If you would like to receive
information about all the sports
activities in the country, you
