BRENDA J. DICKERSON, PH.D. First Vice-Chairwomen | First Vice President Dr. Brenda Dickerson, is a graduate of Spelman College and Michigan State University, is a retired dean from the John F. Kennedy School of Government, Harvard University. She is currently president of the Citizens’ Coalition for a Better Birmingham. She has distinguished herself as an administrator and an activist related to the concepts of transparency, accountability and full disclosure in city government. She has received numerous awards including Harvard Dean’s Excellence in Service Award and Harvard Black Alumni Association’s Exceptional Service Award. She has served on several Boards including the NAACP. Dr. Dickerson has four children and three grandchildren. Secretary-Treasurer Mr. William Burbage is a 1975 Graduate of Auburn University with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (BSBA), majoring in Accounting & Finance. He is currently the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) for the Shelby County Commission where he began his employment in January, 1996. He is charged with the responsibility of the oversight for all of the primary financial activity of the Commission. Mr. Burbage is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) registered in both Alabama and Oklahoma. Before beginning service to the Shelby County Commission, he served in various finance and accounting positions in the corporate environment for both local and multinational corporations. With over 21 years of current service to the Shelby County Commission and over 20 years of previous service in the corporate world, Mr. Burbage has a well-rounded background of experience in the financial arena. RONALD A. MIMS Assistant Secretary-Treasurer Ronald Mims is the pastor of Green Liberty Baptist Church and former general manager of the Birmingham Water Works. He currently serves as President of the Titusville Ministerial Alliance and is a member of the Greater Titusville Civitan Club, along with the Titusville Development Corporation. He has been featured in Black Enterprise Magazine, in addition to having received Birmingham’s Top 40 Under 40 recognition. Mr. Mims received his bachelor’s in Business Administration from the University of Alabama at Birmingham.Quis sandi aspici di repudiaerum fugitiatia pror re dolupta temolor. BRETT A. KING, ESQ. Director Brett is a partner with King and Green, LLC, a law firm with offices in Blount County and Birmingham. Brett’s legal practice focuses on Personal Injury, Municipal, Corporate, Criminal, Real Estate, and Probate matters. He has served for the last ten years as general counsel for the Blount County and Pine Bluff Water Authorities. Brett’s undergraduate degree is from Auburn University (Chemical Engineering); he earned his Master’s Degree in Environmental Engineering from Yale University. Brett received his law degree at The University of Alabama School of Law in Tuscaloosa. He is a member of the Alabama State Bar, and Blount County Bar Association, where he has served as President. Brett and his wife Danya have three children (Ella (8), Zeth (7), and Asa(5)). Brett is a five-time marathoner with a goal of qualifying for the Boston Marathon later this year. SHERRY W. LEWIS Director Sherry Lewis is a grassroots leader and volunteer with over 20 years experience working in the community. Director Lewis is an alumni of Miles College where she received a degree in Management. She currently serves on numerous Boards and is heavily involved in working with a variety of other community organizations. Director Lewis brings extensive customer service experience from her position with AT&T communications. GEORGE MUNCHUS, PH.D. Director George Munchus is a Full Professor of Management in the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Business, as well as a member of both the Birmingham Business Alliance and the Greater Birmingham Black Chamber of Commerce. A long time scholar, Dr. Munchus earned his PhD in Management from the University of North Texas. WILLIAM R. MUHAMMAD Director William R. Muhammad is a product of the Birmingham School system. He is a graduate of the University of Alabama with a Bachelor’s degree in African American Studies and a Master’s degree in Counseling. He is the founder and chair of the Committee to Save Jefferson County. He is a former state representative and Birmingham Minister of the Nation of Islam. He has been a community activist for 34 years. He is presently an adjunct professor at Alabama A&M University teaching psychology. PAGE - 7
