<strong>UPSI</strong> TO COLLABORATE WITH IESCO<br />

<strong>UPSI</strong>, 19 February - Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris<br />

signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU)<br />

with the International Educational Scientific and<br />

Cultural Organization (IESCO) for a period of three<br />

years in the hopes that it would build a network of<br />

international relations to explore the opportunities<br />

of obtaining degree and doctorate students from<br />

the Middle East.<br />

Deputy Vice Chancellor of Student and Alumni<br />

Affairs, Associate Professor Dr. Md Amin Md Taff<br />

state that the MoU as a response to a visit made<br />

by Middle Eastern delegates (IESCO) along with the<br />

Member of the University’s Board of Directors, (Dr.)<br />

Ahmad Sani Araby Dato’ Abdul Alim Araby, on the<br />

22nd of March 2017 that aims to promote <strong>UPSI</strong> at<br />

the Middle East.<br />

Also signing the memorandum in conjunction<br />

with the 1st International Concefrence on<br />

Enhancing Educational Opportunities will be held on<br />

the 19th and 20th of January <strong>2018</strong> at the Putrajaya<br />

Marriot Hotel are International Islamic University<br />

Malaysia, The National Energy University (UNITEN)<br />

and Gaza Islamic University.<br />

The first ever conference was attended by 250<br />

participants from 35 countries and it aims to discuss<br />

the future in maintaining the development of<br />

education in zones of conflicts.<br />

<strong>UPSI</strong> is represented by Associate Professor Dr.<br />

Md Amin Md Taff manakala IESCO is represented<br />

by General Manager, Dr. Mahmoud Shakfa and is<br />

witnessed by the Minister of Higher Education,<br />

Datuk Seri Idris Jusoh, Head Registrar of <strong>UPSI</strong>, Dr.<br />

Hajah Zainab Othman, and Executive Management<br />

of IESCO, Mr. Abdalrahim Shehab.<br />

285 KIC GRADUATES RECEIVE THEIR BACHELOR’S DEGREE IN EDUCATION (PRIMARY SCHOOLS)<br />

<strong>UPSI</strong>, 19 February - A total of 285 graduates<br />

of Kirkby International College attained their<br />

Bachelor’s Degree for Education (Primary<br />

Schools) with Honours at the Kirkby International<br />

College Convocation Ceremony <strong>2018</strong> which<br />

also serves as the final cohort for the <strong>UPSI</strong>/KIC<br />

Franchising Programme.<br />

The President of KIC, Pn. Bismillah Khatoon<br />

Abdul Kader, congratulated the graduates for<br />

being capable of finishing their studies and<br />

hoping that they would strive for even more<br />

success by continuing their studies to an even<br />

higher degree.<br />

“It is with utmost certainty that today’s<br />

accomplishments would be shared along with<br />

their (the graduates) mothers, fathers, husbands<br />

and wives for it is with their unmitigated support<br />

and sacrifices that enables our graduates to<br />

further their studies and to turn their aspirations<br />

into a resounding success,” she elaborated<br />

during the ceremony which was held the Main<br />

Auditorium.<br />

She also reminded her fellow educators in the<br />

country to constantly remind themselves that<br />

future of the coming generation rests in their<br />

hands and that they should strive to educate the<br />

coming generations regarding the importance of<br />

a peaceful environment through the way they<br />

communicate their ideologies and world view.<br />

She also added that educators should express<br />

their thoughts and advices using persuasion<br />

for a gentler approach tend to be much more<br />

effective than aggression.<br />
