The call to reckon ourselves dead to sin (Rom. 6:1- 14) and to submit to the leading of the Holy Ghost (Rom.8:1-16) and the Word of God (John 8:31, 14:21, 2Tim. 3:13-16). Also, the invitation of the in dwelling of the Holy Spirit (Acts 2:38-30). And lastly, the boldness of being enlisted as a soldier in God’s kingdom against Satan and his demonic host (2Cor 10:4-5, Eph. 6:11, 16, 1Peter 5:8). SALVATION- Salvation (Greek Soteria) means “deliverance,” “bringing safely through,” “keeping from harm” in Old Testament time God revealed Himself as the one who saves His people (Ps. 27:1, 88:1, Deut. 26:8). It is described in the New Testament as “the way” or road that leads to eternal through Jesus Christ, which rewards are fellowship with God in heaven (Matt. 7:14, John 14:6). This road of salvation must be walked to the very end of ones earthly existence. 1. There is exclusively only one way to receive salvation. Jesus Christ is the only way to the Father (Acts 4:12). Salvation is provided for us by God’s grace which He gives in Christ Jesus (Rom. 3:24), based on His death (Rom. 3:25, 5:8, 5:10), resurrection, and continued intercession for believers (Heb. 7: 25) 2. There are two operating factors of salvation. Salvation is received by Grace, through Faith in Christ Jesus (Rom. 3:22-25&28). That is, it comes as a result of God’s grace (John 1:16) and the human response of faith (Acts 16:31, Rom. 1:17, Eph. 1:15). Understanding the stages of salvation. (A) The past stage of salvation includes: the personal experience by which we as believers receive forgiveness of sins (Acts 10:43, Rom. 4:6-8) and pass from spiritual death to spiritual life (1John 3:14) from the power of sin unto death to the power of eternal life in Jesus (Rom. 6:17-23), from under the dominion of Satan to the dominion of God (Acts 26:18). Then most importantly bringing us into a new relationship with God as His adopted children (John 1:12) and rescues us from the penalty of sin (1Cor. 1:18, Rom. 6:23). (C) The future stage of salvation includes: (Rom. 13:11-12) our deliverance from the coming wrath of God (Rom. 5:9, 1 Cor. 3:15 5:5, 1Thes. 1:10, 5:9). Our sharing in Jesus’ divine glory (Rom. 8:29, 2Thes. 2: 13-14) and receiving a resurrected or transformed body (1Cor. 15:49-52), and our receiving rewards as faithful overcomers (Rev.2:7). This future salvation is the goal toward which all of us saints of God strive (1 Cor. 9:24-27, Phil. 3:8-14). However, it is important to know that God does punish, warn, and discipline His children to keep us from forfeiting the final stage of salvation (1Cor. 5:1- 13, 9:24-27, Phil. 2:12, 16, 2Pet. 1:5-11, Heb. 12:1). (C2)REDEMPTION- The root meaning of “redemption” (Greek apolutrosis) is to ransom by the payment of price. The expression denotes the meaning by which salvation is procured, namely by the payment of a ransom. The doctrine of redemption can be summarized as follows: (1) The state of sin out of which we must be redeemed: The New Testament represents all of Adam and Eve’s descendants (everyone ever born) as alienated from God (Rom. 3:10-18), under the dominion of satanic powers (Acts 10:38, 26:18), slaves to sin (Rom. 6:6, &7:14), and in need of deliverance from its guilt, punishment, and power (Acts 26:18, Rom. 1:18, 6:1-18, 23 Eph. 5:8, Col. 1:13, 1Pet. 2:9). (B) The present stage of salvation: saves us from the practice and dominion of sin, in return preparing our temple (body) to receive the Holy Spirit. Which includes, the privilege of a person-to-person relationship with God as our Father, and Jesus as our Lord and Savior (John 14:18-23, Gal. 4:6). Mat 6:10 Thy Kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.

(2) The price paid to free us from this bondage: Jesus secured the ransom for sin by sacrificing His life and shedding His blood for us on Calvary’s cross (Matt. 20:28,Mark 10:45,1Cor.6:20, Eph 1:7, Tit. 2:14, Heb. 9:12, 1Pet. 1:18-19). (3) The resultant state of the redeemed: Believers redeemed by Christ are now free from Satan’s Dominion and from the guilt and power of sin. This freedom from sin, however, does not leave us free to do as we wish, because now we’ve become the property of God. Freedom from sin makes us willing slaves of God (1Cor 6:19- 20, 7:22-23). (4) The N.T. teaching of redemption was foreshadowed by redemption in the O.T. The great redemptive event was the exodus from Egypt (Exo.6:7). Furthermore, through the sacrificial system, the blood of animals became insufficient to God for the remission of the people’s sins (Heb 10: 3-7). (C3) JUSTIFICATION- The word “justify” (Greek dikaioo) which means to be “just (or righteous) before God” (Rom. 2:13), “to be made righteous,” ”to establish as right” or “to set or put right”. It denotes being in a right relationship (fellowship) with God rather than receiving a more legal, judicial declaration. God forgives the repentant sinner, whom He had pronounced guilty through the law and condemned to eternal damnation in Hell. Through Jesus God restores us to divine favor, and sets us in right relationship with Himself and His will. The Apostle Paul reveals several truths about justification and how it is accomplished: Being put right with God happens “through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus”. No one is justified without Jesus regardless of their religious belief or lack of understanding (Hos. 4:6). Being put right with God comes “by His grace” and is appropriated through faith in Jesus as Lord and Savior. By faith and obedience to Jesus we are to crucify our flesh just as Jesus was crucified then he comes to live in us (Gal. 2:20, 5:24). Through this experience, we actually become more Christ like and living unto God, endowed with the ability to do great works such as healing the sick and restoring sight to the blind for His glory.
