Term Dates and

Term Dates and School Holidays Each year we will send you, via your child, a list of holidays and dates for the coming year. We will also send reminders of these dates just before each holiday in the weekly newsletter. These are also available on the school website. Attendance and Lateness We believe that parent/carers and school staff all want the children to have the best opportunities in life. If a child misses school or is often late, they miss valuable input and learning time. Attendance and punctuality are linked to good achievement. Good attendance and being on time are essential life skills. If your child is away please, contact the school on a daily basis giving the reason and the expected time they will be away from school on the first day of absence. In exceptional circumstances further evidence of your child’s illness such as a doctor’s note may be requested. Authorisation of absence is at the discretion of the school Absence and lateness are monitored regularly and reported each term on your child’s annual report. Weekly checks are made and parents/carers of children causing concern are contacted, usually in writing. Certificates are given to children with 100% attendance for the term and year. Please note, children should not be taken on holiday during term time. This includes trips to see family members who live abroad. For further information, please ask for a copy of the Parent/Carer information booklet on Attendance and Punctuality. The Extended Day Breakfast Club is held during the school week from 7.50am to 9.00am. An after school club is held during the school week from 3.30pm to 5.50pm. The school also runs a holiday club. In addition there are a wide variety of clubs that cater for different age groups before and after school. Parents/carers may apply for a place for their child[ren]. Current charges are available from the school office. 23 Clapham Manor Primary School

School Lunches School lunch times give an opportunity for children to chat in a relaxed atmosphere and to practise their social skills. We expect high standards of behaviour in the dining hall so that the experience is a pleasure for all. Lunch money is paid via our online payment system, ParentPay. We would appreciate it if you could pay in advance. A school dinner currently costs £1.60 but free lunches are available in certain circumstances. There is always a wide choice on the menu, which includes many salads and a vegetarian option. If your child has a special diet for medical or religious reasons, please let the School Administration Officer or class teacher know. Latecomers must see the School Administration Officer to register as requiring lunch as soon as possible. Please make sure that you pay for your child’s lunch on time. Unfortunately, we have no resources to subsidise debtors. You will be informed by post if we have to stop providing a meal for your child. Packed lunches Children may bring packed lunches as an alternative to the school meal. Packed lunches are eaten in the Dining Hall and must be balanced and healthy. Please make sure that your child brings her/his lunch in a clearly names sandwich box. Fizzy drinks in cans, glass bottles and sweets are not allowede. Water is provided. Milk Your child has the option to have milk that is provided in cartons of one-third of a pint. It is free for those in Key Stage 1 who receive Income Support and for those children in the Nursery. Milk is provided by Cool Milk, and forms are available in the School Office. Payments are made directly to Cool Milk. Other drinks in cartons instead of milk are NOT allowed except for medical reasons, in which case a note from your doctor is required. Your child may bring a water bottle to school clearly marked with their name. The bottle must have a sports cap, and must not contain carbonated or flavoured water. Clapham Manor Primary School 24
