Clapham Manor Primary School Prospectus


Admissions Clapham Manor is over-subscribed in all classes. All parent/carers who wish to apply for a place at the school need to make an appointment to visit us. Visits take place on a Monday morning at 9.20am and occasional Saturdays. At this meeting, the Head teacher will explain Lambeth’s selection criteria and give you a tour of the school. Our selection criteria are the same as all other Lambeth community schools and places are offered to children entering Reception on the following basis to: Looked after children Children with a brother and sister living at the same address, who already attend the school and would not have left the school at the time of admission Children with a professionally supported medical or social need that the school is especially able to meet. Letters from an appropriate professional must support these application although these will not always be conclusive Children for whom it is the nearest county school. Distance will be measured in a straight line from the child’s home and the school entrance in Belmont Road. Admissions for Reception are now coordinated by London Local Authorities. To apply for a Reception place at Clapham Manor you must contact Lambeth Children and Young People’s Service . The school is responsible for casual admissions and admissions to Nursery. If you are refused a school place you have the right to appeal through Lambeth Council. 5 Clapham Manor Primary School

PTA/Friends of Clapham Manor The Parent/Teacher Organisation ( PTA) at Clapham Manor is called the 'Friends of Clapham Manor'. Every parent and carer of a child at the school is automatically a member of the PTA/ Friends. The PTA/ Friends organises events and activities to unite the school community and also to raise funds for the school. The money raised pays for additional activities and resources for all children in the school. Every child goes on a school trip each year which is funded by the PTA/Friends. In recent years, funds have also helped pay for a Food Lab, buy specialist computer equipment to help children with Special Needs, funded theatre, museum and camping trips, a football kit, costumes for the school play, books and resources for the classrooms, playground equipment, games and toys to use during wet play and musical instruments.
