Célio Gonçalo Marques holds a 5-year degree <strong>in</strong> Computer Science <strong>and</strong> Management from Management<br />

School of Santarém (Portugal), a masters’ degree <strong>in</strong> Multimedia Educational Communication<br />

from Open University (Portugal), a post-graduation course <strong>in</strong> E-Learn<strong>in</strong>g Techniques <strong>and</strong> Contexts<br />

from Coimbra University (Portugal) <strong>and</strong> is presently tak<strong>in</strong>g a PhD <strong>in</strong> Education, specialty of Educational<br />

Technology at University of M<strong>in</strong>ho (Portugal). He has been <strong>in</strong>volved <strong>in</strong> projects related with<br />

education-oriented comput<strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong>clud<strong>in</strong>g the Portuguese Program “Internet at School” <strong>and</strong> worked as a<br />

computer consultant for several enterprises. Presently he is an assistant professor <strong>in</strong> the Department of<br />

Information <strong>and</strong> Communication Technologies at the Management School of the Polytechnic Institute<br />

of Tomar. He has authored various publications with emphasis to the book “Os Hipermédia no Ens<strong>in</strong>o<br />

Superior” (“Hypermedia <strong>in</strong> Higher Education”). His research has been oriented towards the design,<br />

development, <strong>and</strong> evaluation of <strong>in</strong>teractive learn<strong>in</strong>g environments, the application of cognitive flexibility<br />

theory, <strong>and</strong> e-learn<strong>in</strong>g.<br />

Carlos Muñoz Martín was born <strong>in</strong> Salamanca (Spa<strong>in</strong>). D. Carlos Muñoz Martín studied Computer<br />

Science at the University of Salamanca (Spa<strong>in</strong>) an is an expert <strong>in</strong> e-commerce at the University of<br />

Salamanca. From June to September of 2005, he worked for M2C develop<strong>in</strong>g a traceability program for<br />

agrarian products. In 2005, D. Carlos Muñoz jo<strong>in</strong>ed the I+D+i team of Clay Formación Internacional<br />

<strong>and</strong> began work on proyects related with e-learn<strong>in</strong>g, e-learn<strong>in</strong>g platforms <strong>and</strong> Web development.<br />

João Noivo holds a 5-year degree <strong>in</strong> Telecommunications <strong>and</strong> Electronics Eng<strong>in</strong>eer<strong>in</strong>g from the<br />

University of Aveiro, Portugal, a specialization <strong>in</strong> Industrial Eng<strong>in</strong>eer<strong>in</strong>g from LNETI, Portugal <strong>and</strong> a<br />

masters’ degree <strong>in</strong> Operations Research <strong>and</strong> Statistics from the University of Lisbon, Portugal. He was<br />

an assistant professor <strong>in</strong> Industrial Electronics Department of University of M<strong>in</strong>ho. In this department,<br />

he participated <strong>in</strong> management activities <strong>and</strong> organized its <strong>in</strong>formatics area. He was also responsible<br />

of department that implemented the e-learn<strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong> University of M<strong>in</strong>ho. He frequented post-graduate<br />

courses <strong>in</strong> e-learn<strong>in</strong>g <strong>and</strong> public adm<strong>in</strong>istration <strong>and</strong> his current research <strong>in</strong>terests are e-learn<strong>in</strong>g <strong>and</strong><br />

organizational architecture.<br />

Alvaro Ortigosa is associate professor of Computer Science at Universidad Autonoma de Madrid<br />

<strong>and</strong> member of the research group GHIA. He received his BA degree <strong>in</strong> Computer Science from the<br />

Universidad Nacional del Centro de la Prov<strong>in</strong>cia de Buenos Aires, Argent<strong>in</strong>a, his MS <strong>in</strong> Computer Science<br />

from the Universidade Federal de Rio Gr<strong>and</strong>e do Sul, Brazil, <strong>and</strong> his PhD <strong>in</strong> Computer Science<br />

from the Universidad Autonoma de Madrid. Dr. Ortigosa has worked <strong>in</strong> software eng<strong>in</strong>eer<strong>in</strong>g support<br />

environments, software reuse <strong>and</strong>, more recently, <strong>in</strong> adaptive systems, collaborative systems, user<br />

modell<strong>in</strong>g, mobile environments, <strong>and</strong> author<strong>in</strong>g <strong>and</strong> evaluation of adaptive systems.<br />

Abelardo Pardo is an associate professor of Telematic Eng<strong>in</strong>eer<strong>in</strong>g at theCarlos III University of<br />

Madrid. He received his PhD <strong>in</strong> Computer Science from theUniversity of Colorado at Boulder. His<br />

research <strong>in</strong>terests are <strong>in</strong> the area of computer supported learn<strong>in</strong>g. He is the pr<strong>in</strong>cipal <strong>in</strong>vestigator of<br />

the mosaicLearn<strong>in</strong>g2 project on e-learn<strong>in</strong>g platforms, tutor<strong>in</strong>g systems, user model<strong>in</strong>g, <strong>and</strong> adaptive<br />

hypermedia.
