Element 1 - A Professional Mentor A key component of the induction programme is the allocation of a professional mentor. Your mentor will be personal to you and would have been chosen from a list of experienced Headteachers and Principals. The main benefits to you having a mentor are: • The opportunities to have individual discussions to raise concerns and issues. • The opportunities to have support from an experienced practitioner who can offer practical advice and support including managing pressure and achieving a healthy work-life balance. • The opportunities that you will have to observe and learn from another person from another school/ college context . • The opportunities to have personal and confidential support. • The reduced feelings of isolation and being fully embraced and supported within the Aurora family.
