Yoga Pod is a franchise originating in Colorado that encourages support of local businesses and entrepreneur development. Yoga Pod was founded on the core values of breath, strength, and sweat. Yoga Pod DTC offers more than 50 classes a week, including hot yoga, restorative yoga, as well as a variety of fitness classes — eliminating the need for multiple gym memberships. Classes are offered at convenient times to fit into busy schedules, starting as early as 5:45 a.m. and including a lunch time express fitness class. Amenities include showers, lockers, rental mats and towels. Yoga Pod offers a variety of membership options including monthly memberships, punch cards and drop-in classes to fit your individual needs. Yoga Pod memberships can be used at any location, and best of all, there is no contract, commitment or enrollment fee! The studio opened in December and is owned by two longtime friends Shannon Scott and Cristy Oberg. Shannon and Cristy worked for the same large corporation for over 15 years, and combined they have over 40 years of business experience. Shannon has always had a passion for yoga — you’ll see her teaching some classes in the studio — while Cristy discovered yoga more recently. Cristy and Shannon know that yoga can sometimes be intimidating, and feel it is important that their studio is focused on being a judgmentfree space for people of any age or fitness level to start or continue their yoga journey. “Yoga Pod is here to help you build your physical skills, challenge you along the way, and achieve a greater sense of presence. Our classes are built for all levels, from beginner to advanced, and will guide you to a greater state of health, well-being, and connection. Each class will allow you to increase your body awareness, flexibility, and strength all while decreasing stress and providing a platform for personal growth.” Since the grand opening, the studio has been a popular choice among Village residents and visitors alike. Reviews from studio members include: “The Yoga Pod DTC facility is clean and inviting and the instructors have been great. I’m newer to Yoga and the basic classes have been super helpful in learning proper positions & alignment. Everyone at the front desk has been friendly and helpful in getting me registered and learning more about the classes/schedules. Overall, a great experience!” “I love Yoga Pod at DTC. There are tons of classes to choose from and many teachers with many different styles. The staff has been super welcoming and helpful as well. Love it here!” In addition to yoga and fitness classes, an assortment of workshops are offered on weekends covering a variety of topics to enhance mind and body. Past workshops have included CPR Certification, Yoga Basics 101 and fun yoga challenges. Check the Yoga Pod DTC Facebook page for more details on upcoming workshops.
