This kind of growth is comparable to what you’d find in offices serving major metro market areas. “Our area isn’t flush with big businesses,” said division director Jessica Charne. “Building relationships with clients who give us consistent business and adding some key accounts have helped us get where we are today.” Knowing the market helps Jessica and her team, which includes staffing managers Tim Woosley and Michael Rockstedt, gain the trust of clients in the town of 12,000. Their combined tenure — more than 25 years — is a competitive advantage. “It speaks volumes about our expertise,” Jessica said, “and helps us earn our clients’ respect and trust.” The Red Bank team is the exclusive provider for a client’s high-volume project this year. “We’re staffing more than 50 positions over a 10-week period,” Jessica explained. “In addition to using search tools like Spotlight, we’re partnering with our local unemployment office as a resource to find candidates.” Administrative recruiter Samantha Reynolds brings in the talent needed to staff job orders, and Christine Ricardo and Maura Draper provide administrative support. “Thanks to Samantha’s strong recruiting efforts, our interview room stays busy,” Jessica said. “Christine and Maura’s two decades of collective administrative experience are invaluable, especially with managing compliance details for project work. This kind of collaboration and chemistry allows us to fire on all cylinders.” Providing great service is a hallmark of the Red Bank team’s customer approach. “Today’s candidate is tomorrow’s client, so it’s important to treat them well,” Jessica said. Jessica credits regional manager Christine Rowe, metro market manager Dora Onyschak and branch manager Stephanie Calandrino with being her professional role models. “They’ve been mentors to me and provided support whenever I needed it. For example, Christine led a conference call with every team in the region to discuss my team’s needs, so any eligible candidates could be bubbled over to me.” After nearly 15 years with Robert Half, this native Jersey Girl still enjoys everything about her job. “I love being on a team and doing something that matters,” Jessica said. “It really doesn’t feel like work.” 12 HALF TIMES

This option gives clients the opportunity to not only interview a candidate but also evaluate their skills on the job for a day. District director Marilyn Bird said they’ve had a lot of success placing candidates using this option, with senior staffing manager James Hofbauer leading the charge. Collaborating with other lines of business and Salaried Professional Service (SPS) has also benefited the team. Marilyn recalled a client who was having a hard time finding a candidate for an accounting position. “James consulted with him on the benefits of the working interview and the need to move on top candidates quickly in this tight market. The client agreed to try it, and the candidate we placed is now a full-time employee.” That success led to another five job orders from the client, which they staffed in a single day. “This team is relentless when it comes to finding clients the right candidates for their needs,” Marilyn said. “The team ran Salesforce searches, and financial recruiter Jesus Marquez shared notes on his recent interviews with candidates. No one walked away from their desks until they had those jobs staffed.” The team can also count on the support of the entire Oakbrook Terrace office. In one case, staffing manager Eleni Nikols had a client visit with a CEO she met at a networking event. The supply-chain company wanted a temporary-to-hire entry-level accountant with Excel skills and had no luck finding one on their own. She teamed with SPS and “by the next afternoon, one of our salaried professionals had begun his working interview there,” Eleni said. The team’s dedication to putting the needs of clients and candidates first is a powerful motivator, Marilyn said. “If something needs to get done, everyone — from the top down — will drop what they’re doing and help.” HALF TIMES 13
