4 QUIT TAKING SODA Any kind of soda, including the diet ones, are the easiest thing to take away from your diet because they’re so easily replaceable. The best part is that they don’t need to be replaced with something extraordinary – water. Knocking soda off your daily routine and replacing it with water will help you lose weight, and give you more energy. You will also be more hydrated, recover much better from workouts, and look better. Plus, there will be significantly lesser damage to your bones, teeth, kidney, and liver. 5 SWEET CEREAL Reese’s Puffs cereal or Cinnamon Toast Crunch might sound very delicious, but try to take cereals only occasionally. Alternatively, opt for high-fiber cereal with 8 grams or less sugar per serving. Most cereals tend to advertise themselves as healthy with “healthy whole grains” and “fresh fruit”, but are in reality loaded with refined sugars with very little or no benefit to your body whatsoever. Check for whole grains on the ingredients list, not the front of the box, and make sure there’s at least 3 grams of fiber per serving. Add a few raw almonds, a handful of fresh fruit, and a tablespoon of ground flax seed to satisfy you better rather than double up on your serving size. 6 FRUIT OR GRANOLA BAR You might have heard that granolas are healthy for you. Nonetheless, these bars usually have lots of poor ingredients, are highly processed, and have high amounts of sugar. Always go for a real food option with a well-balanced amount of protein, carbs, and fat. 10 | March 2018
