Sharon S.D.A. Church

Seventh-Day Adventists accept the Bible as their only creed and holds

certain fundamental beliefs to be the teaching of the Holy Scriptures.

These beliefs, as set forth here, constitute the church’s understanding

and expression of the teaching of Scripture. They are meant to permeate

your whole life, growing out of scriptures that paint a compelling portrait

of God. You are invited to explore, experience, and know the One who

desires to make us whole.

15. Baptism

By baptism we confess our faith in the death and resurrection of

Jesus Christ, and testify of our death to sin and of our purpose

to walk in newness of life. Thus we acknowledge Christ as

Lord and Saviour, become His people, and are received as

members by His church. Baptism is a symbol of our union with

Christ, the forgiveness of our sins, and our reception of the

Holy Spirit. It is by immersion in water and is contingent on an

affirmation of faith in Jesus and evidence of repentance of sin.

It follows instruction in the Holy Scriptures and acceptance of

their teachings. (Matt. 28:19, 20; Acts 2:38; 16:30-33; 22:16;

Rom. 6:1-6; Gal. 3:27; Col. 2:12, 13.)

We Welcome Our Guests:

Ellen G. White

Celebrating

“Seeker Sabbath”

We want to extend this invitation

For you to come along

And become part of our church family

Where you feel that you belong

For you are valued by the Lord

And He has a purpose for you,

He's placed within you special gifts,

He longs for you to use

And we, as a church, would love to see

You grow within your gifts,

For then we all can receive a blessing

With what God's blessed you with.

“Let a living faith run like threads of gold through the performance of even the smallest

duties. Then all the daily work will promote Christian growth. There will be a continual

looking unto Jesus. Love for Him will give vital force to everything that is undertaken.—

My Life Today, p. 250.”

CHURCH THEME

“United in Christ”

“That they all may be one; as thou, Father, are in me; and I in thee; that they also may be

one in us; that the world may believe that thou hast sent me. And the glory which thou

gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one: I in them; and

thou in me, that may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast

sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me.
