West Melton School pupils spent the day with Constable Rick Groen – the school’s police community officer – learning how to operate their new kea crossing. The day started off with a theory course before moving outside to learn the practical skills. Pupils learnt how to hold, carry and install a lollipop sign and how to judge when it is safe to cross the road using the correct language. Meanwhile, the school held its year 4-8 school duathlon recently. Pupils had the opportunity to compete as an individual entry or as part of a team. The course started on the A MAN is in a stable condition after his car rolled after a crash near Lincoln on Sunday. For year 4 pupils, it was their first chance to compete in the duathlon while year 5-8 competitors can now compete in the Selwyn Central Zone Duathlon tomorrow. The school’s duathlon champions were Ted, Isla, Brooklyn and Sophia. The exhibition will run later this month. It is the perfect place for emerging and established artists of Selwyn to exhibit their works to a large public audience and get the chance to sell their creative pieces. This exhibition is unique in that it is open to all skill levels. New artists are able to have an opportunity to learn about exhibition processes and connect with others involved in the arts in Selwyn. This is also a chance for people to share their talent with an audience that appreciates the work that goes into creating a bespoke art piece.
