Through <strong>March</strong> 18 th - The Houston Livestock Show<br />
and Rodeo is the world’s largest livestock Show<br />
and rodeo. With more than 33,000 volunteers, the<br />
organization is a Section 501(c)(3) charity that<br />
benefits youth, supports education and facilitates<br />
better agricultural practices through exhibitions<br />
and presentations. Since its beginning in 1932,<br />
the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo has<br />
committed nearly $450 million to scholarships,<br />
research, endowments, calf scramble<br />
participants, junior show exhibitors, School Art<br />
participants and other educational programs.<br />
The <strong>2018</strong> RODEOHOUSTON entertainment lineup<br />
features a mix of country, rock, R&B and Spanish<br />
pop artists. Several RODEOHOUSTON favorites,<br />
plus six entertainers new to RODEOHOUSTON,<br />
will be the first to perform on the new state-ofthe-art<br />

<strong>March</strong> 2 nd -<strong>March</strong> 4 th - The 83 rd Azalea Trail<br />
heralds the beginning of Spring! The Trail kicks<br />
off with a ribbon cutting ceremony at the Lazy<br />
Lane entrance of Bayou Bend on Friday, <strong>March</strong><br />
2 nd at 10:30 AM. This year, a ticket to the Trail<br />
gives admission to 6 locations within the River<br />
Oaks neighborhood, including 4 private homes<br />
and gardens, Bayou Bend and Rienzi. A 7 th free<br />
location, also in River Oaks, is the River Oaks<br />
Garden Club Forum of Civics where free advice<br />
from “Ask the Experts” can be enjoyed each<br />
day. On Saturday at 2 PM, there will be a floral<br />
demonstration with easy to repeat floral tips from<br />
one of our talented Garden Club members! A free<br />
trolley will provide easy access to all 6 locations<br />

<strong>March</strong> 3 rd - The Houston Area Women’s Center<br />
(HAWC) is proud to kick off our 30 th Annual Race<br />
Against Violence presented by Verizon! This<br />
milestone race and family festival will be held on<br />
Saturday, <strong>March</strong> 3, <strong>2018</strong>, and starts at 8 AM at the<br />
AIG Campus at Whole Foods Market-Montrose.<br />
The Race Against Violence is open to timed and<br />
untimed runners and includes a kids’ fun run<br />
and family festival after the race! Register solo or<br />
rally your friends together to start a team to help<br />
fundraise to support survivors of domestic and<br />
sexual violence throughout Houston. Together,<br />
we can race towards a future without violence!<br />

<strong>March</strong> 4 th - AIDS Foundation Houston, Inc.(AFH)<br />
hosts the 29 th Annual AIDS Walk Houston on<br />
Sunday, <strong>March</strong> 4, <strong>2018</strong>, at Sam Houston Park in<br />
Downtown Houston. This signature event is the<br />
city’s single greatest response in the fight against<br />
HIV/AIDS. Funds raised help local HIV/AIDS service<br />
organizations provide programs and services to<br />
almost 30,000 Houstonians impacted by the virus.<br />
This year, the annual fundraiser will culminate in a<br />
free outdoor concert featuring live performances<br />
from Houston-based artists. VIP wristbands for the<br />
concert will be available to 1,500 Houstonians who<br />

<strong>March</strong> 10 th - Join us for Texas’ largest canoe<br />
and kayak race - the 46 th Annual Buffalo Bayou<br />
Partnership Regatta. Paddlers (ages 12 and<br />
up) are encouraged to participate in the 15-mile<br />
American Canoe Association sanctioned race along<br />
the scenic Buffalo Bayou. Whether you are entering<br />
competitively or paddling for pleasure, you won’t<br />
want to miss out on this longstanding Houston<br />
tradition! Those not wanting to paddle can cheer<br />
on racers along the race route or catch the outdoor<br />
fun at the finish line festivities at Sesquicentennial<br />
Park. The Buffalo Bayou Partnership Regatta is<br />
rain or shine. If cancellation does take place due to<br />
severe water or weather conditions, all entry fees<br />
will be considered a tax-deductible donation to<br />
Buffalo Bayou Partnership and used in our efforts<br />

<strong>March</strong> 10 th - The NOLA Boil Crawfish Festival.<br />
Welcome to a good ol’ Lousiana crawfish boil a<br />
popular seafood dish that is enjoyed throughout<br />
the southern regions. We are bringing together<br />
crawfish enthusiast from all over the world to<br />
come celebrate the “Mud Bug”. “Crawfish season”<br />
is what they call it and is a time of year loved and<br />
shared by many breaking the tails and sucking<br />
the heads. We love it! Come hungry and enjoy a<br />
variety of live entertainment, dj sets, vendors and<br />

<strong>March</strong> 17 th - 59 th Annual Houston St. Patrick’s<br />
Parade. Rain or Shine! Parade starts at the Clock<br />
Tower at MinuteMaid Park on Texas and goes<br />
west-bound. This year’s theme is Houston Strong,<br />
Irish Proud. Join us at Lucky’s Pub for the Awards<br />
Ceremony and After-Party! The Houston St.<br />
Patrick’s Parade has always been a FREE event.<br />
The two-hour parade has historically been one of<br />
the largest in the U.S. and each year includes over<br />
100 entries to delight the Irish and Irish-at-heart.<br />
Our history is a grand one and if you would like to<br />
personally support the parade and be a part of the<br />
year-round socials and meetings, please become<br />

<strong>March</strong> 18 th - Tour de Houston Presented by Apache<br />
Corporation is a fundraising bike ride that benefits<br />
Houston’s Reforestation Program. The ride will<br />
take place Sunday, <strong>March</strong> 18, <strong>2018</strong>. This annual<br />
event offers Houstonians and visitors a unique<br />
way to view the city with bike routes winding<br />
through Houston’s historic neighborhoods, scenic<br />
districts and parks. With three ride length options,<br />
the Tour de Houston is the perfect event for leisure<br />
riders or cycling enthusiasts. In addition, it is a BP<br />
MS 150 recommended training ride. This event<br />
begins and ends in Hermann Square at City Hall<br />
located at 901 Bagby. Riders and volunteers will<br />
enjoy a post-ride party that includes live music,<br />

at The Annual Bayou City Art Festival Memorial<br />
Park. This fine, juried art festival transforms the 1.1<br />
- mile trail of the park into a one-of-a-kind outdoor<br />
gallery. In addition to the extensive selection of art,<br />
representing 18 different forms of artistic media,<br />
festival goers can also enjoy international food and<br />
wine, the Green Mountain Energy Creative Zone<br />
offering interactive art activities, daily outdoor<br />

<strong>March</strong> 26 th -April 1 st - Houston Open. This<br />
PGA TOUR event, the 10 th oldest tour event, is<br />
Houston’s largest and most prestigious golf event<br />
hosting 144 of the world’s best golfers competing<br />
for $6M in prize money. Since 1974, Houston<br />
Golf Association’s volunteers have generated<br />
more than $55.2 million for local worthy causes<br />
through the Shell Houston Open and other golfrelated<br />
