MegaSıva Elyaflı K Cement Based, Manually Applied Roughcast With Fiber Additive PRODUCT DESCRIPTION White cement based, manually applied roughcast with fiber with enhanced adherence, which contains filling material of suitable granulometry and which has been reinforced with various chemical additives. AREAS OF USE MegaSıva Elyaflı K is used in indoors and outdoors spaces for the elimination of surface defects and the repair of the fractures and cracks and the smoothing of surfaces on prime coated gas concrete, prime coated concrete, briquette, brick surfaces and ceilings, for the gauging of wall surfaces with defective gauge, and for surface smoothing prior to such applications as insulation system and curtain walling systems. CE APPLICATION PROCEDURE Application Surfaces Indoors and Outdoors Walls; - Gas concrete (MegaFilm primer applied) - Concrete (MegaFilm or MegaFilm BB primer applied) - Briquette - Brick Ceilings: - Concrete (MegaFilm or MegaFilm BB primer applied) Surface Preparation • The application surface should be dry, clean, sound and dust free, and should have been cleansed of oil, dirt or any materials that may prevent adhesion, and any such materials as mortar and cement residues should be scraped from the application surface. • The surface defects, which are deeper than 1 cm, should be repaired with MegaTamir İ or MegaTamir K 24 hours in advance. In the cases, where structural repair mortar should be used; MegaTamir İ Yapısal or MegaTamir K Yapısal should be preferred. • The application surfaces should be moisturized with water, where necessary. • Upon the completion of the surface cleaning, MegaFilm primer should be applied in a single coat with a brush and be left to dry for 1 to 2 hours in order to enhance the bonding strength and stabilize the surface absorption. • Gas concrete surfaces should, prior to the application of the product, be applied MegaFilm primer and the water absorption of the surfaces should so be reduced. • Exposed concrete surfaces should be applied MegaFilm BB exposed concrete primer in single coat and be left to dry for minimum 3 hours prior to the application of the adhesive mortar in order to enhance the adhesion strength. Application Methods • The application thickness should ranger between 1.0 cm and 2.5 cm. In the cases where the application thickness is to exceed 2.5 cm, an additional coat of maximum 2 cm thickness should be applied upon the sufficient hardening of the primary coat. • The product should be applied with a steel trowel, whereupon the surface should be smoothened with a gauge stick. • Once plaster dewaters and is sufficiently hardened following the application, the surface should be processed with a trowel and final finishing touches should be made with a moist sponge. Application Recommendations • The surface should be moisturized intermittently for a period 7 days following the application in order to enhance the endurance of the plaster. • Plaster profiles should be employed on the corners in order to ensure a better quality result and high level of efficiency. • The product should not be applied to such surfaces, to which paint, premixed colorful plaster, base coat plaster or exterior coating, and to gypsum surfaces. • The product should, once mixed, be used before the expiration of its pot life. Any product, the pot life of which has expired, should not be used during the application. • Any such foreign substance as lime, cement or plaster should not be added to the mortar prepared. • Any extra water should not be added to the mixture. • The product should not be applied on unsound surfaces. The soundness and the load bearing capacity of old surfaces should be checked prior to adhesion. • The surface should be preserved from air currents and water contact during and after the application. • The product should not be applied to such surfaces, which are exposed to risk of freezing within the next 24 hours, which are frozen or the frost of which is thawing. • Due care should be taken to ensure that the material is not exposed to direct sunlight in hot weather conditions, and the product should be mixed with cold water. • The product should not be applied on extremely windy weather conditions or on hot surfaces, which are exposed to direct sunlight; and in the cases, where application is imperative under such conditions, the environment and the surface should be prepared for application in advance. • The product should not be applied in rainy weather conditions, and the application surface should be preserved from rain for a period of 24 hours. • Refer to our technical support hotline for recommendation on different surface applications. APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS Mixing Ratio The product should be mixed with water, weighing equal to 23 - 25 % of the product. (8.00 - 8.75 liters of water for a 35 kg package) Mixing Equipment • Low speed electrical mixer (400 cycles/min.) • Special tip stirring equipment Mixing Period The product should be stirred with a low-speed mixer until any dry dust and globs are eliminated. The mortar should, then, be stirred once again for 1 to 2 minutes after being had settled for 3 to 4 minutes following preparation. Application Equipment • Steel trowel • Smoothing trowel • Sponge Equipment Cleaning The equipment used should be cleaned with water following the application before the mortar dries.
