MegaAntiFreeze 10
Anti-Freeze Mortar And Concrete Additive For
Cold Weather Conditions
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
An anti-freeze liquid concrete and mortar additive without chloride content that enhances
the applicability in cold weather conditions of the cement mixes, to which it is added.
AREAS OF USE
MegaAntiFreeze 10 is suitable for use as anti-freeze for all cement mortars and concrete in
cases, where frost is expected, in constantly cold weather conditions, in such conditions,
where mild frost is at issue throughout the day, in such cases, where sudden temperature
drops are likely.
PRODUCT ADVANTAGES
• Enhances the resistance of mortar and concrete against frost.
• Improves the early strength of concrete or mortar in cold weather condition or against the
impact of frost.
• Free from chloride, and does not harm the concrete or the reinforcement.
• Shortens the mold removal and workmanship time in cold weather conditions.
PERFORMANCE
APPLICATION PROCEDURE
Application Surfaces
MegaAntiFreeze 10 should be added to the water used for mixing the concrete or mortar.
Mixing Period
The appropriate mixing period applicable for the mortar or the concrete mixed should be
taken into consideration.
Application Equipment
The appropriate mixing equipment for the product to be applied should be used.
Equipment Cleaning
The appropriate equipment cleaning for the product to be applied should be performed.
TECHNICAL PROPERTIES
Appearance/Color: Liquid, light yellow
Density: 1.12 ± 0.02 gr/cm 3
pH: 5 - 6
Freezing Point: -10°C
CONSUMPTION
The product should be used in such mass that is 1% equal to the weight of the cement
content within the mortar. (The consumption amount may range between 1 % and 3 %
depending on the ambient conditions and the structure of the materials within the mixture.)
PACKAGING
MegaAntiFreeze 10 is delivered in net 30 kg plastic drums.
SHELF LIFE
The shelf life of the product is 12 months when stored within non-tampered original
packaging in dry (maximum relative humidity 60 %) and cool (ambient temperature between
+5°C and +25°C) environment.
STORAGE CONDITIONS
The product should be stored within non-tampered original packaging in dry (maximum relative
humidity 60 %) and cool (ambient temperature between +5°C and +25°C) environment.
Store in a cool and dry environment.
The package of the product should not be allowed to be exposed to frost or severe weather
conditions.
The container of the product should be closed firmly when not used.
SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
Please refer to the Safety Data Sheet (SDS) as appropriate for easy and safe application.
Surface Preparation
The product does not require any surface preparation.
Application Methods
• MegaAntiFreeze 10 should be added along with the mixing water or subsequent to the
mixing.
• The Product should be added to the mixing water in such mass that weighs equal to 1% of
the cement's weight. When added directly to the concrete, the mixing time should be
elongated for 2 to 3 minutes.
Application Recommendations
• Any snow, ice and frost should be completely removed from the zone, where the concrete
or the mortar is to be placed.
• The mixing instruction for the product should be followed. The product should not be
added directly to the cement.
• The compounds within the concrete or the mortar should be preserved from the impacts of
frost.
• Due care should be taken to ensure that the difference between the temperature of
surfaces, to which the concrete or the mortar is to contact, and the temperature of the
mortar applied is not excessively high. The temperature of the concrete or the mortar should
be increased by heating the application zone in cases, where necessary.
• Refer to our technical support hotline for recommendation on different surface applications.
(PHONE: 444 4 595)
Surface and Ambient Temperature
The surface and ambient temperature should be between +5°C and +15°C whilst at
application.
APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS
Mixing Ratio
The product should be added to the mixing water in such mass that weighs equal to 1 % of
the cement's weight.
Mixing Equipment
The appropriate mixing equipment for the product to be applied should be used.
