Megaİzo Lastik 10 Polymer Emulsion And Cement Based, Double Compound, Elastic Waterproofing Material Fit For Potable Water Tanks PRODUCT DESCRIPTION Elastic waterproofing material comprised of cement based powder component and polymer emulsion based liquid component, which is fit for use in drinking water tanks and which can be applied prior to the top coating material. AREAS OF USE Megaİzo Lastik 10 is applied for waterproofing before the top coating material in such wet spaces as bathrooms, kitchens and balconies, in terraces, and in such constantly wet spaces as pools and water tanks. It is suitable for use on horizontal and vertical surfaces of indoors and outdoors spaces. PRODUCT ADVANTAGES • Fit for contact with drinking water. • Highly adhesive. • Being of water repellant nature, the product is resistant to water and frost. • Ensures seamless waterproofing for application surfaces. • Allows for the application of any coating material subsequent to the application thereof. • Fully elastic. • Applied rapidly and easily. • Does not contain solvents, and is environmentally friendly. PERFORMANCE TYPE: CM P, waterproofing material with cement content, applied in liquid form, chlorinated water resistant, poses crack bridging capability. Initial adhesion strength ≥ 0.5 N/mm 2 TS EN 14891 : 2012 Adhesion strength after water contact ≥ 0.5 N/mm 2 TS EN 14891 : 2012 Adhesion strength after thermal ageing ≥ 0.5 N/mm 2 TS EN 14891 : 2012 Adhesion strength after freezing – thawing cycles ≥ 0.5 N/mm 2 TS EN 14891 : 2012 Adhesion strength after hard water contact ≥ 0.5 N/mm 2 TS EN 14891 : 2012 Waterproofing No penetration, ≤ 20 gr increase in mass TS EN 14891 : 2012 Crack bridging capability under standard conditions ≥ 0.75 mm TS EN 14891 : 2012 Adhesion strength after chlorinated water contact ≥ 0.5 N/mm 2 TS EN 14891 : 2012 The foregoing values represent the results of the laboratory tests conducted at 23 ± 2°C temperature and 50% ± 5 relative humidity conditions. The values provided as per the table may vary depending on the surface and ambient conditions. REFERENCE STANDARDS Certifications/Standards TS EN 14891 TS EN 1504 - 2 Ministry of Public Works and Settlement Item No. Ministry of Public Works and Settlement Item No.: 04.477/2 QUALITY CERTIFICATES Certificate for suitability for contact with drinking water issued by Water Quality Center, UK according to BS 6920: 2000 (Report Reference No: M 104943) – (03.05.2011) TSE CE APPLICATION PROCEDURE Application Surfaces Indoors and Outdoors Walls; - Cement based plaster (MegaFilm primer applied) - Concrete (MegaFilm or MegaFilm BB primer applied) Indoors and Outdoors Floors; - Cement based trowel coating (MegaFilm primer applied) - Concrete (MegaFilm or MegaFilm BB primer applied) Surface Preparation • Application surfaces should be sound, clean, dust-free, and free from molding oils and other foreign substances. Such materials as mortar and cement residues should be peeled off. • The surface defects, which are deeper than 1 cm, should be repaired with MegaTamir İ or MegaTamir K 24 hours in advance. In the cases, where structural repair mortar should be used; MegaTamir İ Yapısal or MegaTamir K Yapısal should be preferred. • Upon the completion of the surface cleaning, MegaFilm primer should be applied in a single coat with a brush and be left to dry for 1 to 2 hours in order to enhance the bonding strength and stabilize the surface absorption. • Exposed concrete surfaces should be applied MegaFilm BB exposed concrete primer in single coat and be left to dry for minimum 3 hours prior to the application of the adhesive mortar in order to enhance the adhesion strength. Application Methods • Megaİzo Lastik 10, the mixture of which should have been prepared, should be applied in double coat on the surface. Once the primary coat thoroughly dries, the secondary coat should be applied as perpendicularly to the primary coat. • Edge and corner joints should be beveled with MegaTamir İ and MegaTamir K repair mortars in order for the maintenance of waterproofing. • In the cases, where beveling is not performed; Megaİzo Bant should be applied to such inadequately waterproof spots as edge and corner joint spots in order to ensure the maintenance of insulation. • Depending on the nature of the application surface; the secondary coat may be applied after the placement of Megaİzo File on the primary coat. In the cases, where net reinforcement is necessary; the net shall be laid on the primary coat before it dries. Application Recommendations • Due care must be taken to ensure that the insulation material is not damaged by mechanical impacts in the cases of coating over the insulation. • The product should not be applied against negative water pressure. • The product should, once mixed, be used before the expiration of its pot life. Any product, the pot life of which has expired, should not be used during the application. • Any foreign material should not be added into the product’s components of the product during the application. • The product should not be applied on unsound surfaces. The soundness and the load bearing capacity of old surfaces should be checked prior to adhesion. • The surface should be preserved from air currents and water contact during and after the application. • The product should not be applied to such surfaces, which are exposed to risk of freezing within the next 24 hours, which are frozen or the frost of which is thawing. • Due care should be given to prevent the exposure of the material to direct sunlight in hot weather conditions. • The product should not be applied on extremely windy weather conditions or on hot surfaces, which are exposed to direct sunlight; and in the cases, where application is imperative under such conditions, the environment and the surface should be prepared for application in advance. • The product should not be applied in rainy weather conditions, and the application surface should be preserved from rain for a period of 24 hours. • Refer to our technical support hotline for recommendation on different surface applications. (PHONE: 444 4 595) Surface and Ambient Temperature The surface and ambient temperature should be between +5°C and +35°C whilst at application. Application Limits Useful time for prepared mixture - Pot life Stand by period between coats Required standby time before subsequent application The foregoing values represent the results of the laboratory tests conducted at 23 ± 2°C temperature and 50% ± 5 relative humidity conditions. The values provided as per the table may vary depending on the surface and ambient conditions. APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS Mixing Ratio The powder component (20 kg) and the liquid component (10 kg) should be thoroughly mixed. Mixing Equipment • Low speed electrical mixer (400 cycles/min.) • Special tip stirring equipment Mixing Period The product should be stirred with a low-speed mixer until any dry dust and globs are eliminated. The mortar should, then, be stirred once again for 1 to 2 minutes after being had settled for 3 to 4 minutes following preparation. The product should be stirred in regular intervals during the application. Application Equipment • Brush • Roller Maximum 3 hours Minimum 6 hours Minimum 3 days Equipment Cleaning The equipment used should be cleaned with water following the application before the product dries.
