MegaTamir EpoGrout Epoxy Based, Three Component, High Performance Assemblage And Grout Mortar PRODUCT DESCRIPTION Three component, solvent free assemblage and grout mortar of fluid nature with epoxy bonding, which is resistant to mechanical effects, chemical effects and vibration. AREAS OF USE MegaTamir EpoGrout is used on lead-bearing surfaces, the foundations of machines, for the assemblage of machines and the assemblage of column headings, compressors, high speed turbines and crane rails, as coating, repair, filling and horizontal crack repair material resistant to dynamic loads, friction and impact in warehouses and loading spaces, on industrial floors, airport runways and aprons and on bridge pads. It is suitable for use on horizontal surfaces in indoors and outdoors spaces. REFERENCE STANDARDS Ministry of Public Works and Settlement Item No. Ministry of Public Works and Settlement Item No.: 04.613/8E APPLICATION PROCEDURE Application Surfaces Indoors and Outdoors Floors; - Cement based trowel coating - Concrete - Metal Surface Preparation • The application surfaces should be dry, clean, sound and dust free, and should have been cleansed of oil, dirt or any materials that may prevent adhesion, and any such materials as mortar and cement residues should be scraped from the application surface. • The concrete should have been cured for minimum 28 days. The compression strength of the concrete should be 25 N/mm 2 at minimum. • Due care must be taken to ensure that the surface is completely dry prior to the application. The humidity ratio of the concrete should be 5 % at maximum. • Any and all metal plates and exposed appurtenances, which may contact the material, should be properly sanded, and the surface should be applied a suitable primer within 4 hours following such sanding. Application Methods • The product is of fluid consistency and is applied by casting. The product is, then, formed through spreading with a trowel or scraper. In the case of fillings under large plates; the product should be cast from one side only and due care must be taken to prevent the formation of air bubbles. The material should, following the casting, be nebulized so it can discharge the air. • The material is of expansive nature; therefore, the gap to be filled should be surrounded with molds. The edges and joints of the molds should be thoroughly sealed. The contact surfaces of the molds should be coated with MegaKalıp MY, the release agent, in order for the easy removal of the molds following the curing. The mold width on the side, where the material is to be cast, should not exceed 50 mm. • The material should be cast from some 150 to 200 mm height through a hydrostatic tip for convenient and continuous fluidity. • The material should be maintained at a fixed position in order to ensure thorough contact with the bottom of the base plate and to eliminate any air gaps in between, the application should be performed uninterruptedly to the extent practicable, to which end the mixture amounts should be planned in advance. Application Recommendations • The product should not be applied under such conditions, where the ambient temperature is lower than +10°C and the relative humidity is higher than 75 %. • The surface temperature should be minimum +3°C higher than the related dew point temperature. • The product should not be left in the mixing bucket following the mixture and should be transferred to a container with large surface area or to the application surface especially in hot environments. • Appropriate measures should be taken for the spots, where emergence of water or water vapor is observed from the negative side. • The product should be applied in 10 to 50 mm thickness in a single coat. The material should be cast in layers in the case of applications thicker than 50 mm and for large surface area applications. Due care must be taken in the case of casting in layers to make sure that the previous layer has hardened and is cooling. • The product should not be used in such environments, where formic acid, acetic acid and other high concentration acids exist. • The product should not be used for the filling of cold joints, elastic or moving structural joints. Such joints should be filled with Megaİzo PU Mastik LM or Megaİzo PU Mastik HM. • The pot life and the application times of epoxy based products shorten in warm environments and elongate in cold environments due to the effects of the ambient humidity and temperature. Surface and ambient condition recommendations should be duly observed for the best performance. • The mixture should not be applied if gelled. • Any such foreign substance as lime, cement or plaster should not be added to the product, which prepared with two compounds. • The product should not be applied on unsound surfaces. The soundness and the load bearing capacity of old surfaces should be checked prior to adhesion. • The surface should be preserved from air currents and water contact during and after the application. • The product should not be applied to such surfaces, which are exposed to risk of freezing within the next 24 hours, which are frozen or the frost of which is thawing. • Due care should be taken to ensure that the material is not exposed to direct sunlight in hot weather conditions. • The product should not be applied on extremely windy weather conditions or on hot surfaces, which are exposed to direct sunlight; and in the cases, where application is imperative under such conditions, the environment and the surface should be prepared for application in advance. • The product should not be applied in rainy weather conditions, and the application surface should be preserved from rain for a period of 24 hours. • Refer to our technical support hotline for recommendation on different surface applications. APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS Mixing Ratio 42 units of component A (resin), 8 units of component B (hardener) and 50 units of component C (filler) shall be mixed. Mixing Equipment • Low-speed electrical mixer (400 cycles/min.) • Special-tip stirring equipment Mixing Period The product should be stirred with a low-speed mixer until any dry dust and globs are eliminated. The mortar should, then, be stirred once again for 1 to 2 minutes after being had settled for 3 to 4 minutes following preparation. or toluene. The non-cured epoxy on the application surface should be cleaned with a moist sponge or a moist sponge mildly saturated with detergent. The dried epoxy can be cleaned mechanically. In order for easy mechanical cleaning; the contaminated tools may be kept within such solvents as thinner, acetone or toluene for 1 to 2 hours, which would soften the epoxy. Following the said recommendations will facilitate mechanical cleaning. TECHNICAL PROPERTIES Chemical Structure: Epoxy resin based, solvent free grout mortar Density: 2.10 ± 0.1 gr/cm 3 Surface Drying: 5 - 6 hours CONSUMPTION Recommended consumption amount for application in roughly 1 mm thickness on 1 m 2 surface is 1.75 - 2.25 kg. The said value may vary, depending on the surface and ambient conditions. PACKAGING MegaTamir EpoGrout is delivered as a set in net 25 kg boxes (Component A: 10.5 kg; Component B: 2.0 kg; Component C: 12.5 kg). SHELF LIFE The shelf life of the product is 12 months when stored within non tampered original packaging in dry (maximum relative humidity 60 %) and cool (ambient temperature between +10°C and +35°C) environment. STORAGE CONDITIONS The product should be stored within non tampered original packaging in dry (maximum relative humidity 60 %) and cool (ambient temperature between +5°C and +35°C) environment. It should not be exposed to direct sunlight. The container of the product should be closed firmly when not used.
