XENIA POOLE Editor’s column Every year starts the same – with a pledge, a promise, a resolve to be better. To lose weight, quit smoking, pay off debt, change jobs. If one of those, or all of those, happened you’d be a better person. You could finally start living the life you’ve dreamed about. Come February/March, resolve waning, you talk yourself down. It’s not the right time. You haven’t been logical and realistic about your pledge. You’re destined never to be better. It’s a rut that many fall into and, ruts being what they are, can become increasingly difficult to get out of. Once you don’t believe that change is possible, that you can be ‘better’, you’ve already lost. Many people (myself included) are huge advocates of personal development in helping you get to where you want to be in life. However, if you’re looking for a ‘fix’, it’s important to remember this when approaching personal development: there isn’t a book out there that can help you grow without you taking action. It’s easy to get caught up in the next best thing that’s going to help you revolutionise your life. In fact, simply by reading, watching, searching for and consuming the information that will help, you can often feel like you’ve already won the battle! It’s good to want to be better, to want to achieve your goals and create the lifestyle you want. Don’t get caught up looking externally for answers, though, when the most important part of personal development is actually you! There’s no one-size-fits-all solution for being the architect of your own life. You have infinite potential and there are limitless possibilities, but it all starts with you. Yes, following a successful person’s morning routine might work for a while, but unless it’s right for you it’s doomed for failure in the end. Use personal development as a helpful pick and mix. If something resonates with you, try it. If it doesn’t work, don’t beat yourself up. Growth isn’t a one-time occurrence – it’s a constant, so if something that works for you now, it might not necessarily work for you next year. Keep learning, keep researching, keep re-evaluating. The most learned person in the land doesn’t know what is best for YOU, so make sure you keep yourself in mind every step you take. What you learn in life is always important. How you weave that learning into your life is more important. Lastly, you need to enjoy the journey and if you’re already starting off believing that you’re not good enough and that you need fixing, it’s not going to be pleasurable. Be kind to yourself, because you’re already enough. Life is to be lived and enjoyed in the moment, so make sure you’re doing that first and foremost. To live this way and pursue your goals is not mutually exclusive, in fact, you’re more likely to achieve everything you’ve ever wanted. It’s time to make personal development personal. So how can you make sure that you’re following personal development in the best possible way – a way that will help you grow as a person and not feel like you’re forever chasing a perfect state that (let’s face it) will never be attainable and more than likely make you feel worse for having tried and failed. 2 ISSUE 1, 2018

Our success lies in the simplicity of our business model, along with a Network of Distributors determined to help each other succeed. Towards the end of last year, we launched a new logo and strapline to start our centenary countdown. It was Stronger Together. For Kleeneze, this is a new era: one of communication and partnership between the Network and HQ. It’s that partnership that will take us through the next five years into an even brighter, stronger future. It’s all dependent upon us working together. They say if you believe, you will achieve. I have massive, unwavering belief in this business and the people within it. I have already seen how many lives it has changed for the better and I know that it has the power to create unbelievable lifestyles. Communication and support levels have been like nothing I’ve ever witnessed before in this industry. We’ve come together as a great force to work for the future. Your determination and effort has been powerful and inspiring. We have a huge opportunity to move forward together and take this business to the next level. We already know that this business changes lives – it’s up to us together to decide how many lives that could be. Only by working together can we make everyone’s individual success stories. We are living proof of how people can work together and succeed together.
