The new path will provide safer and more direct access to the Hospice for individuals relying on public transport and coming from the nearby Corseford School. Chief Executive of St. Vincent’s Hospice, Kate Lennon, said: “Not only will this improve access to St. Vincent’s Hospice and Corseford School, but this will really help open up the countryside; allowing more people across the community to use the playing fields for recreation, dog walking or horse riding.” St. Vincent’s Hospice provides specialist palliative care for individuals affected by life limiting conditions throughout Renfrewshire, as well as support for families and young people who have been impacted by the loss of a loved one. The project is currently scheduled for completion in April 2018. There are also plans to add a toucan crossing in the future. The day promises to be upbeat, energetic and exciting for all! Expect to see lots of entertainment on the way round, and finish it all off with a hot meal! What more could you ask for?! Signing up is easy! You can register online and join the Home-Start Heroes Renfrewshire and Inverclyde team. Home-Start provides one-to-one practical and emotional support to any parent with one or more children under five with individually tailored weekly home visits by a trained volunteer to the family. Our volunteers were parents themselves and understand how hard it can be! They work alongside parents, in their own homes, to help them cope with the stresses and strains of life and make sure they have the skills, confidence and strength they need to nurture their children. Much research and Home-Start’s own considerable experience has shown that the first five years of a child’s life are the most important. The impact of family life in these years strongly determines their life chances. Children who are raised in a stable, loving and supportive environment are far more likely to have a positive and healthy future ahead of them but life’s challenges can hinder a parent’s ability to provide this environment We are always looking for more new volunteers and trustees, if you are at all interested please contact us on 0141 889 5272 or 01475 603441 or deadline date for our april issue - Friday 16th March - You don’t want to miss it!!
