Hard Sayings of Jesus<br />

Like his original hearers many people <strong>to</strong>day find Jesus' sayings hard. Some sayings are hard because they<br />
are difficult <strong>to</strong> understand, others because the demands they make on us are only <strong>to</strong>o clear. This class<br />
examines several of the hard sayings of Jesus <strong>to</strong> clear away the cultural and his<strong>to</strong>rical difficulties which keep<br />
us from grappling with the real challenge of Jesus' message.<br />
How People Change<br />

Wh<strong>at</strong> does it take for lasting change <strong>to</strong> take root in your life? If you've ever tried, failed, and wondered why,<br />
this class is for you. This class is a wake-up call <strong>to</strong> s<strong>to</strong>p living as if the purpose was <strong>to</strong> simply arrive safely<br />
<strong>at</strong> de<strong>at</strong>h. Our dreams shouldn't scare us. They should be so big th<strong>at</strong> without God they are impossible <strong>to</strong><br />
achieve. Quit running away from wh<strong>at</strong> you’re afraid of.<br />
A Closer Look At Eternity<br />

In <strong>to</strong>day’s culture, many people have a dis<strong>to</strong>rted view of eternity. Heaven is a place shrouded in mystery.<br />
Even in many churches, hell has been forgotten. In this class, we will take a closer look <strong>at</strong> eternity and why<br />
our understanding of heaven and hell are vital <strong>to</strong> our understanding of the Gospel.<br />
The Jesus Brand<br />

The Apple brand is worth twice as much as any other brand on the planet. Google is the generic term for the<br />
search c<strong>at</strong>egory, but wh<strong>at</strong> separ<strong>at</strong>es Google from brands like Kleenex and Xerox is the amount of money it<br />
gener<strong>at</strong>es. Jesus is the world's gre<strong>at</strong>est brand and He is the only 2000 year old brand. The only One th<strong>at</strong><br />
continues <strong>to</strong> rise in value each second of each day. Unlike Nike, Jesus shed His blood <strong>to</strong> purchase our<br />
redemption. The price th<strong>at</strong> was paid is worth the salv<strong>at</strong>ion of humanity. At His name, every knee will bow and<br />
every <strong>to</strong>ngue shall confess.<br />
Knowing the Will of God<br />

Who of us doesn’t want <strong>to</strong> know God’s will for our lives? In the Bible, there are a number of examples of<br />
people trying <strong>to</strong> legitim<strong>at</strong>ely determine God’s will. The Bible has also given clear prohibitions against certain<br />
practices used by the pagan culture. Yet sometimes, Christians confuse th<strong>at</strong> which is prohibited with th<strong>at</strong><br />
which God has allowed. Is there really a way for the Christian <strong>to</strong> know God’s will? In this series, we will gain<br />
the biblical guidelines and principles <strong>to</strong> help us determine the will of God in our lives.<br />
