TRAVEL TRADE<br />

In 2017, working with Hainan Airlines, Marketing Cheshire<br />

welcomed 17 Chinese Tour Operators to Chester, showcasing<br />

the cities key attractions and accommodation. Working with<br />

Travel Specialists Cox and King Chester also welcomed 7<br />

US Tour Operators to experience Chester. Later in the year<br />

Cheshire welcomed over 40 Group Travel Organisers as part<br />

of the annual AGTO conference, encouraging them to visit 10<br />

of Cheshire’s top attractions.<br />

In 2017 Marketing Cheshire also attended ExploreGB,<br />

VisitBritain’s flagship Travel Trade event, providing an<br />

invaluable opportunity to meet and do business with over 80<br />

hosted international travel buyers from over 35 countries.<br />

During the one-to-one meetings, international travel<br />

buyers were shown an image led presentation, highlighting<br />

Cheshire’s central location as well as images and details of<br />

our Travel Trade partners.<br />

Other key activities include a full website re-fresh with more<br />

itineraries and FAQ’s, to make accessing information and<br />

booking as easy as possible. Plus, the development of our<br />

Travel Trade database, which now includes over 2000 quality<br />

contacts who are sent targeted communications throughout<br />

the year.<br />
