Sixteen Angels! 

A missionary and co-worker had to walk some distance to collect a sum 

of money which had been sent to a bank on their account. Night overtook 

them before they could reach home; so, committing themselves to God, they 

lay down to sleep on the lonely hillside and finished their journey the next 

morning. Some weeks later a man in the hospital stared at the missionary 

and said, “I have seen you before.” “No,” replied the missionary, “I don’t think 

we have met.” “Oh yes we have!” said the man. “You were sleeping on a 

hillside a few weeks ago. Several of us saw you at the bank and followed 

you, intending to rob you when it was dark, but we didn’t dare because of the 

soldiers.” “Soldiers?” The missionary laughed. “There were no soldiers with 

us, my friend.” The bandit was adamant. “Yes there were—we counted them. 

There were sixteen of them and they had swords.” After telling the incident 

while on furlough, the missionary was approached by a friend who asked, 

“What date was it when you camped on the hillside?” The missionary found 

the date in his diary and his questioner checked the date in his appointment 

book. “That night,” he said, “we had our weekly prayer meeting. Your name 

was brought forward for prayer, and,” he added, “there were sixteen of us 

in the meeting.” 

Hebrews 1:14 states that angels are “ministering spirits, sent forth 

to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation.” Note that the 16 

believers had an important part in God sending the 16 angels disguised as 

soldiers—they were praying for the missionary that night. We see also in 

Acts 12:5-11 that God sent an angel to deliver Peter out of prison in response 

to the fact that “prayer was made without ceasing of the church unto God 

for him.” Let us pray for our missionaries and suffering Christians around the 

world that God would send His angels to deliver them for His glory!

Ever feel like your life is a little chaotic?! Here are a few little tips to get your life back on track and help you 

handle what is going on: 

‘To-do’ lists 

will inspire you to finish the whole list before you call it a day. 

To help you handle what you really need to accomplish, make a ‘to-do’ list, but add a few things you’ve already 

completed or know you will complete. For example, if you need to do laundry and clean bathrooms, make sure 

you cross off eating breakfast, getting newspaper, and checking e-mails. Having a mostly completed ‘to-do’ list 

Make time for your self 

Everyday block out 1 hour for yourself, even if you have a busy schedule. Don’t use this ‘me’ time to run errands or do favors for other people. Sit down, relax, 

take a nap, put your feet up and read a book or look at a favorite magazine, listen to music, or sip a hot cup of tea or your favorite drink. If you really feel that you 

don’t have an hour to spare, break it up into 20-minute sections and spread them out during the day. 

Organize something 

Getting organized can be a huge task. However, if you break it down into small pieces, it won’t feel so overwhelming. Start small—the ‘junk’ drawer in the kitchen 

or pantry or the box sitting in the back of your closet. Spend about 1 hour (unless you have more time and energy) sorting through the items. Becoming more 

organized will do wonders for your outlook on life! **Organizing/de-cluttering is one of the most requested topics in my business! 

Stop worrying 

You can’t appreciate today if you worry about tomorrow. Anything you spend too much time worrying about is just a waste of time. If something is going to 

happen, it will happen whether you worry or not. And worry has never accomplished anything! You are much better off redirecting your mental energy elsewhere. 

Live in the present 

The past is over. Move on and enjoy today! You can learn from your mistakes, but don’t dwell on the past. The future is not here yet, so end any worry about 

what ‘could’ happen. You can dream about the future and set goals, but don’t let dreaming about tomorrow replace living today. Remember…The past is history, 

the future is a mystery, but today is a gift—that’s why they call it ‘the present’.

how to change your Medicare Plan during the next few months.
