WINTER OLYMPIC GAMES<br />
PYEONGCHANG<br />
A large number of <strong>Doppelmayr</strong>/<strong>Garaventa</strong> ropeways will be in oper<strong>at</strong>ion<br />
<strong>at</strong> the 2018 Winter Olympic Games in South Korea. In total, there will<br />
be 22 install<strong>at</strong>ions <strong>at</strong> the four main <strong>venues</strong>, which are Yongpyong Resort,<br />
host to the slalom and giant slalom competitions, the Bokwang Snow<br />
Park for the freestyle skiing and snowboard events, Alpensia Resort<br />
for ski jumping, bi<strong>at</strong>hlon, cross-country and the sliding sports, as<br />
well as the Jeongseon Alpine Center for downhill, super-G and super<br />
combined. The <strong>Doppelmayr</strong>/<strong>Garaventa</strong> Group won all the invit<strong>at</strong>ions<br />
to tender for the ropeway install<strong>at</strong>ions for the PyeongChang 2018<br />
Olympic <strong>venues</strong>. The Downhill Gondola in Jeongseon is the most<br />
recent install<strong>at</strong>ion <strong>Doppelmayr</strong>/<strong>Garaventa</strong> completed, just on schedule<br />
for the first FIS World Cup race in February 2016.<br />
