Equipment For All
There are various types of equipment used in the game of bowls.
The following required list explains the purpose for each item:
Set of Four Bowls: Four bowls with the same picture and type on
them.
Bowls Bag: To put your set of bowls in for transportation and to
keep them in good condition.
Measuring tape: At the completion of the 'End', if you cannot
determine who has shot (closest to the Jack) by visual means then
you will use this piece of equipment to see who has shot.
Bowls Cloth: This is just to wipe your bowl if gets wet, dirty or
Slippery.
Chalk or 'Toucher Spray': When the bowl in motion touches the jack
it is called a 'Toucher'. A member of your team will mark it with chalk
or the spray (a chalk based spray) to idenify it for that end.
Bowls Shoes: Flat, white shoes to play in. The flat sole prevents
damage to the green as you walk up and down the green.
The information above provides the basic equipment you require
when first taking up the game. Remember, if you are just a social
bowler, some of these items are available from your club. Just ask.
If you would like to buy any of these items they can be purchased
