Our Spirit your Journey

Of all the countries on the face of the planet, India is perhaps the most vivid and colourful, the most

exciting and surprising. Its landmass encompasses thousands of years of rich history and tradition, framed

by the Himalayas, two mighty oceans, and an interior landscape of great wonder and beauty, whose vast

population enriches the nation in language and music, art and architecture, music and spirituality.

Little wonder that travellers are drawn to India in ever greater

numbers – but to truly appreciate this great and complex cultural

tapestry, there is nothing better than being in the expert hands of

experienced India specialists such as Spirit Journeys. We know this

country. We understand its history and geography, its culture – and

we are expert guides in revealing its secrets to those wishing to

What clients are saying . . .

12 Jan 2018 - Spirit Journeys interpreted my requirements and

delivered the Holiday of a lifetime that was beyond my expectations,

they should be commended for their ability to do this and I would

highly recommend them and their team to others.

8 Jan 2018 - Very good at listening and gauging holiday likes and

dislikes. Went the extra mile to identify holiday options to suit our

preferences. Very patient!

The Golden Triangle

This outstanding introduction to India explores the celebrated ‘Golden Triangle’, starting in Delhi, then visiting the Mughal

capital of Agra, legendary Fatehpur Sikri and the ‘Pink City’ of Jaipur.

A typical Itinerary includes:

• A guided tour of Old and New Delhi, taking in the

Red Fort, the Jama Masjid (one of the largest mosques

in Asia) and a walk through the Chandni Chowk –

Delhi’s most amazing street market.

• A guided tour of Agra, including the Red Fort and the

Taj Mahal, built as a mausoleum in the 17th century by

Emperor Shah Jahan for his wife Mumtaz Mahal – and

justifiably regarded as the most beautiful building in

the world.

• A visit to Fatehpur Sikri – a now abandoned historic

capital of the Moghul emperor Akbar. Built in vivid red

sandstone, the deserted city is a testament to inspired architecture

and the craftsmanship of carved stone.

• A tour of the fabulous hilltop citadel of Amber Fort, Anokhi

Museum of Hand Printing - and a Jaipur city tour, including the

City Palace Museum and the historic Jantar Mantar Observatory.

The Ultimate Travelling Camps

The Ultimate Travelling Camps is a concept that takes camping to a whole new level of luxury and opulence. Each camp

contains beautiful, spacious tented structures for guests, with large and comfortable beds, bathrooms and sitting areas.

A communal marquee and dining tent provide perfect locations for socialising with fellow guests.

There are five Ultimate Travelling

Camps locations to choose from:

Chamba Camp, Diskit - located in the

mountain kingdom of Ladakh, to the north of the

Indian massif, the camp is in the remote Nubra

valley, near the ancient tribal village of Diskit.

Activities include walking, cycling and exploring

local cultures.

Chamba Camp, Thiksey – also in Ladakh,

close to the ancient city of Leh. Visit a monastery

to witness early morning prayers; experience

traditional Ladakh archery - and watch the sunset

from the holy Shanti Stupa.

Jaagir Lodge, Dudhwa – located on the

flood plains of the Himalayas, provides the

opportunity to discover rich flora and fauna, from

vibrant bird life to tigers, leopards and rhinos. For

those looking for more human experiences, visit

the ancient Tharu tribe, with deep insights into

their ancient traditions and customs.

Kohima Camp, Nagaland – lies between Assam and Myanmar (Burma), in an

area of rolling hills and rainforests. Meet the Naga people, who wear exotic costumes

and headdresses in memory of their fierce warrior ancestors; witness local ceremonies –

and visit Kohima World War 2 Cemetery.

Kishkinda Camp, Hampi – located in a stunning setting, surrounded by dramatic

scenery comprising hills scattered with huge boulders. The camp is being developed to

feature a swimming pool, with nine luxury tent suites and a Presidential Suite. A short

drive from the camp is a magnificent historic 15th century UNESCO World Heritage Site

- and the journey there is equally rewarding, through banana plantations and mango

groves, all in the shadow of huge boulders. A trip to Daroji Bear Sanctuary is well worth

the visit, in order to see beautiful sloth bears and other vibrant wildlife.

level. With a choice of rail journeys throughout India to choose from, Royal Rajasthan on Wheels and

Deccan Odyssey are individual train companies, each offering wonderfully diverse journeys throughout the

Indian sub-continent.

India Royal Rajasthan on Wheels

India Royal Rajasthan on Wheels takes passengers

embracing Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Gujarat and

the Deccan. Visit Mumbai, Delhi, Hyderabad and

other great cities – and discover a wealth of history,
