The United States of America was founded on certain fundamental principles. Some of these<br />

principles were first identified as essential to our country in the Declaration of Independence. Then,<br />

in the plan for our government—the U.S. Constitution—these principles were established as part of<br />

the foundation our government was built on.<br />

These fundamental principles have been put to the test many times throughout U.S. history. They<br />

have survived the test of time. These early foundations of the American government remain<br />

fundamental principles of our government, even today!<br />
