old airplanes with the mighty round<br />
engines will be flying again as the<br />
Commemorative Air Force’s Houston<br />
Wing presents its <strong>2018</strong> Warbird Weekend<br />
and Open House at Hangar B-5, West<br />
Houston Airport. Get up close and feel<br />
the prop wash and hear the noise as radial engines power these historic WWII aircraft. See some<br />
of the old planes your father, grandfather or grandmother learned to fly for World War II.<br />
Admission is $15 per CAR at the gate or $10 per car if ticket is purchased in advance online<br />
(check our website or facebook page for details) and earns you a day of aircraft and military<br />
vehicle displays, museum exhibits and fun.<br />
Warbird rides will also be available for purchase.<br />
Food, drinks, gifts and souvenirs will be available. Come on out and honor America. The<br />
Commemorative Air Force is a non-profit national patriotic organization whose membership<br />
includes people from all backgrounds sharing an interest in aviation and history. www.<br />

The West Houston Airport is located at 18000 Groschke Rd., 2 miles north of I-10 and between<br />
Hwy. 6 and Barker Cypress, will be the place to visit on Saturday and Sunday, <strong>April</strong> 14 th & 15 th<br />
from 10 AM until 5 PM.<br />

Katy Community ‘Chip Clinic, a local non-profit, volunteer-run organization is pleased to<br />
announce its spring schedule of upcoming events to serve the needs of Katy-area residents.<br />
The organization offers $10 microchipping for pets with FREE lifetime registration! What is a<br />
microchip? A microchip is a rice-sized transponder that is injected between a pet’s shoulder<br />
blades with a needle. When getting ‘chipped, most animals don’t notice any difference from<br />
when receiving yearly vaccinations. A microchip does NOT have a GPS locator on it, but as<br />
long as the account is kept up-to-date, its number will be linked to the pet owner’s contact<br />
information. The microchip account is easily accessible online and pet owners can update as<br />
needed and even add pet’s photo and veterinarian info.<br />
Pet owners do not need to live in the same town as these upcoming events to take advantage<br />
of this service, but PLEASE NOTE: cash only and MUST bring rabies certification paperwork (not<br />
just the collar tag) - for volunteer and attendee safety. There is a limit of two pets per family,<br />
unless pre-approved. Cats should be in a secure carrier and dogs should be on a no-slip leash<br />
(please no retractable leashes).<br />
