Chamber member business briefs Martin County Veterans Memorial (MCVM) (507) 238-3220 Project Update: Honoring the veterans of Martin County, the black granite panels for the memorial wall will be installed this summer and the cut-off date to have a veteran name engraved or included on the panels at time of installation is June 15, 2018. Names will also be added periodically thereafter. Veteran must have been a resident of Martin County at some time of their life. Cost of engraving $200. Veterans or veteran families are encouraged to participate in this honorable recognition. It is against the law to dispose of fluorescent bulbs and ballasts with your regular garbage. Fluorescent bulb recycling will be held in the former Kmart parking lot on Thursday, May 3rd, from 9:00 AM-1:00 PM. This recycling that you will notice is an announcement of Let’s Go Fishing’s plans to launch pontoons and Kinship’s Annual Industrial Rummage Sale, both signaling spring and more sunshine to come. Mark your calendars - the Chamber seeks funding for youth programs, while hosting one of the earliest golf tournaments of the season at Rose Lake Golf Course on Friday, June 1st. The last thing I want to tell you is that the 2018 Visitor and Relocation Guide arrived in January. It is beautiful and the piece that you will want to get into the hands of those near and far who have an interest in our community.
