Seventh-Day Adventists accept the Bible as their only
creed and holds certain fundamental beliefs to be the
teaching of the Holy Scriptures. These beliefs, as set
forth here, constitute the church’s understanding and
expression of the teaching of Scripture. They are
meant to permeate your whole life, growing out of
scriptures that paint a compelling portrait of God. You
are invited to explore, experience, and know the One
who desires to make us whole.
16. The Lord’s Supper
The Lord’s Supper is a participation in the emblems of the
body and blood of Jesus as an expression of faith in Him,
our Lord and Savior. In this experience of communion
Christ is present to meet and strengthen His people. As we
partake, we joyfully proclaim the Lord’s death until He
comes again. Preparation for the Supper includes selfexamination,
repentance, and confession. The Master
ordained the service of foot-washing to signify renewed
cleansing, to express a willingness to serve one another in
Christlike humility, and to unite our hearts in love. The
communion service is open to all believing Christians.
(Matt. 26:17-30; John 6:48-63; 13:1-17; 1 Cor. 10:16, 17;
Celebrating
“Communion”
We offer our blessings upon each of you who have joined us in worship today. Our
prayer is that you receive the comfort, joy and hope you so stand in need of and
invite you to join us again for a Holy Spirit filled worship experience.
The Desire of Ages by ELLEN G White
None should exclude themselves from the Communion because some who are
unworthy may be present. Every disciple is called upon to participate publicly, and
thus bear witness that he accepts Christ as a personal Savior. It is at these, His own
appointments, that Christ meets His people, and energizes them by His presence.
Hearts and hands that are unworthy may even administer the ordinance, yet Christ
is there to minister to His children. All who come with their faith fixed upon Him
will be greatly blessed. All who neglect these seasons of divine privilege will suffer
loss. Of them it may appropriately be said, "Ye are not all clean."
CHURCH THEME
“United in Christ”
“That they all may be one; as thou, Father, are in me; and I in thee; that they also
may be one in us; that the world may believe that thou hast sent me. And the
glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we
are one: I in them; and thou in me, that may be made perfect in one; and that the
world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved
me. John 17:21-23
