2018 APRIL NO.1 EDUCATION UNIVERSITY h t t p : / / w w w . u p s i . e d u . m y / UPSI NEWS UPSI Visited by Tuskish Ambassador to Malaysia Photo by Nurul Haniza Mohd Rashid Tanjong Malim, 12 March - Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris was visited by the Turkish Ambassador To Malaysia, Dr. Merve Kavakci at the Main Meeting Room, Chancellery Building. During the momentous event, representatives of both the university and the ambassador aims to further improve their two way relationship, and to collaborate with one another, particularly on the education front. Vice Chancellor, Profesor Dato’ Dr. Mohammad Shatar Sabran stated that the collaboration will be put into action by May of this year. “This collaboration will encapsulate the fields of mobility, research, and publication. It will involve both student and staff exchanges and holding international conferences,” he remarked. He also added that the paperwork regarding the collaboration is currently under work to further enable the delegates to choose universities that they deemed fit for a collaboration with UPSI. “The Turkish Ambassador To Malaysia also remarked that their party aims to make education as a key component in crafting the future generation.” “Therefore, in order to produce quality graduates, we must collaborate along with the outside party to craft great minds in education that will indeed be in tandem with the goals and aspirations of the National Transformation movement (TN50),” he further elaborated. The events that were also held were the Mutual Proposal Handing Over Ceremony that would enable UPSI to collaborate in the aforementioned field and a lecturing session entitled “Crisis of Ummah and Remedies” that was spearheaded by Professor Dr. Yusuf Ziya Kavakci.
