UPSI, 19 February - A total of 600 UPSI
staffs declare their oath of honesty
during a ceremony which was held at
the Experimental Theatre which was
spearheaded by the Vice Chancellor,
Professor Dato’ Dr. Mohammad Shatar
Sabran.
According to the Deputy Director of
the Malaysia Anti Corruption Commission
(Perak), Tuan Ahmad Shukri Mohamad
Taib, this oath session serves as an
initiative to introduce a very malleable
method to abolish corruption.
“The oath ceremony is to ensure that
the leadership in an organization would
steer away from corruption and would
instead focus on crafting a working
condition where integrity is rewarded
especially when it comes upholding the
responsibilities to run an organization,”
“The oath should not be taken lightly. It
had to be understood and implemented
in all aspects of life,” he commented.
He further elaborated that SPRM will
increase its efforts in reinvigorating the
country’s Corruption Perception Index
UPSI REJECTS CORRUPTION
which had unfortunately slipped to the
55th spot out of 176 countries in 2016
than in the 54th spot the previous year.
“Thus, this heinous act should be
ostracized, rejected and battled upon by
the good people of UPSI and the general
public so that the culture of corruption
will not thrive and we must ensure that
the responsibility should always be kept
in check and rewarded,” he further

Another event that took place was the
Corruption Free Oath signing ceremony
which was witnessed by Deputy Vice
Chancellor Professor Dr. Mohd Sahandri

Distinguished STEM
Leadership at MTE 2018
Kuala Lumpur, 24 Feb - Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris once
again make history when the Deputy Vice Chancellor Research
& Innovation, Professor Dato’ Dr. Noraini Idris is awarded
the Distinguished STEM Leadership by the Japan Intellectual
Property Association (JIPA) during the Malaysia Technology
Expo (MTE 2018) which would run from the 22nd to the 24th of
February 2018 at the Putra World Trade Centre (PWTC), Kuala
Lumpur.
Professor Dato’ Dr. Noraini received the top award which was
handed by the representatives of JIPA whilst being witnessed
by the Deputy Minister of Education Datuk P. Kamalanathan
for her many contributions to the fields of science, technology,
engineering and mathematics (STEM).
During the annual event, UPSI also succeeded in garnering a
gold medal, two silver medals and three bronze medals through
a few innovations that managed to garner a few participations
into MTE 2018.
The gold medal was awarded to an innovation An Integrated
Platform in Multi-Classes for Multi-Dimensional Evaluation
to Virtualized and Benchmarking of Data Mining Real Time
Applications which was spearheaded by Dr. Aos Alaa Zaidan
from the Faculty of Computer Arts and Creative Industry.
The silver medals were awarded to the innovations entitled
Synthesis of Graphene Film from Waste Chicken Fat for
Application as Flexible Transparent Electrode that was led by Dr.
Mohamad Saufi Rosmi the Faculty of Science & Mathematics
along with Sedap Cycle that was led by Dr. Wesley Allan Johnson

of the Faculty of Music and Performance Arts.
The three bronze medals were awarded to the Electronic Push-
Up Test Instrument (SEGAK) by Prof. Madya Dr. Gunathevan
(leader), Folk Tunes of Malaysia For Violin Beginners by
Mayya Musaeva (leader) dan “Pembelajaran Kendiri Perisian
Multimedia Interaktif Aural” by Prof. Madya Dr. Mohd Nizam
Haji Nasrifan (leader).
MTE 2018, whose theme for the event is Asia’s Inventions
and Innovations Marketplace is organized by the Malaysia
Association of Research Scientist (MARS) and PROTEMP
Exhibitions and Conferences Sdn. Bhd is aimed to give creators
and inventors a chance to put their work in the spotlight.
