14. VIDYALAYA DIARY 14.1 Every pupil is given a Vidyalaya Diary with a twinfold objective of using it as a reference manual and as means of communication between the Vidyalaya and the Parent. 14.2 The Child should bring the Vidyalaya Diary every day to school. The Parents are to peruse it daily. Rules and regulations given therein, are to be strictly followed. 14.3 The Vidyalaya Diary gives Rules, Regulation and other details. Telephone : 0451 - 2471700 PROSPECTUS AND REGISTRATION FORM FOR ADMISSION FORMALITIES 1. INTRODUCTION 1.1 SOUNDARARAJA VIDYALAYA was found in June 1988 through the munificence of "Soundaraja Charities Trust, "Dindigul. 1.2 The Vidyalaya is situated on a sprawling campus of over 29 acres, 5 kms away from the Dindigul town on Natham Road, ideally suited to a peaceful learning environment, away from the dust and din of a town life. Presently, the Vidyalaya has seven blocks to take care of the needs of Academic, Administrative and other requirements. It has a spacious Dining Block with two floors and two more Extensions and modern amenities in its kitchen to take care of the needs of the Day Boarders. The Vidyalaya has a large, well provided multipurpose auditorium. One of the salient features of the Vidyalaya is the Day Boarding System and all children and staff members are encouraged to opt for this facility. It has seven Buses to take care of its transport requirements. The growth and development of the vidyalaya, in respect of its infrastructure as well as academic endeavours all these years by any reckoning, is singular. 1.3 The Vidyalaya has separate blocks for each of its kindergarten, Primary, Junior, Middle and Senior Sections. There is a building exclusively dedicated to the Application of Educational Technology. The Resource Center adopts modern educational technology as a means of learning experience. Digital learning experience and other means of modern educational technology play a vital role in day to day classroom interactions. The Computer Center in the Vidyalaya enables children to acquire their skill in this special area which is fast becoming indispensable to everyone. Children are trained in the use of multimedia and internet for self learning. A well equipped library, five laboratories, an auditorium, extensive play fields, a mini zoo and other facilities that go into the moulding of an all round personality in a child form an integrated infrastructure of the Vidyalaya. 8 1
2. AFFILIATION 2.1 The Vidyalaya is affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education New Delhi. It has classes from Pre-Kindergarten to Senior Secondary Courses. 2.2 Senior Secondary Courses :- The Central Board of Secondary Education, Delhi has accorded recognition to the Vidyalaya for the following subjects at class XI and class XII levels. They are : a) Core Languages : (i) English (ii) Tamil (b) Elective Subjects : (i) English (ii) Tamil (iii) Mathematics (iv) Physics (v) Chemistry (vi) Biology (vii) Commerce (viii) Accountancy (ix) Business Studies (x) Economics (xi) Home Science (xii) Introductory Computer Science (xiii) Accountancy and Auditing (xiv) Office Management and Secretarial Practice (xv) Bio - Technology 2.3 The medium of instruction in the Vidyalaya is English. English will be the First Language, Tamil will be the Second Language and Hindi the Third Language. The Vidyalaya Provides adequate exposure not only in academics but also in a variety of co-curricular activities. The co-curricular includes Environmental Studies, Value Education, Music, Art and Computer Science. 10.4 To ensure uniform shade, texture of cloth, pattern of uniform and other specification, please check with a set of outfits which are being kept in Vidyalaya office for reference. The uniform cloth prescribed for the Vidyalaya has to be obtained only from Bombay Dyeing Show Rooms. 10.5 Parents are requested to specially ensure, that the tailors when cutting the cloth for Vidyalaya pinafore, do so crosswise from the length of the cloth given to them. This will enable a free circumference down at the lower half and more bagginess. 11. TRANSPORT ON REQUEST 11.1 The Vidyalaya will provide transport, as available with it, at request, on payment of the prescribed fees. All those who are granted this facility will abide by all rules and regulations that will be in force from time to time. An application, every year, separately will have to be made in the prescribed form for this facility. 12. THE DAY BOARDING SYSTEM 12.1 One of the salient features of the Vidyalaya is its Day Boarding system. It is obligatory for every child to opt for this provision. 12.2 This facility provides (a) Milk and Snacks for Pre-KG and KGI Children. (b) Milk, Snacks and Lunch for KGII and Class I children (c) Lunch for children from Class II upwards. 13. IDENTITY CARD 13.1 Every child will be issued an Identify Card on payment. It will contain useful details for emergency. It should be worn at all times. If the Identity Card is lost or damaged, new ones, on payment must be procured. Children should not be sent to Vidyalaya without Identity Cards. 2 7
